Thanks John, that looks decent. Wish I'd known all this before everything was installed but never mind. Would you use aluminium ducting for that rather than the white flexi hose?

Should they have used one of those fancy neff ones - not sure what they're called but think they're meant for islands...

Thankfully we don't use the fan much as tend to open patio doors if there's a few pans on the go. My husband cooks & likes to watch the tv at the same time!

Thanks - I think it's just a build up of mould over the last 6 years since the house was built as the fan was replaced straight away after the old one conked out

I recently had my axial bathroom extractor fan replaced by an electrician but the flexi hose ducting wasn't replaced at the time (it's 6 years old). I've noticed it has black mould inside the ducting and just wondering if I should replace it myself? Other than the mould it's in good condition...
