    My £180 4CH CCTV Setup - A Review

Good point, I forgot about that. Edit: no I didn't, I stuck some in post two before I had four cams. Attached are screenshots from the App running over an LTE connection (other than the first one) on iPhone 5, forgot to rotate them before I uploaded. I'll get some pictures of the 17" Dell...

    My £180 4CH CCTV Setup - A Review

:D Just logged on for the first time in a while and seen all of these posts! Some people seem to have overlooked the fact I clearly called this a budget setup and said I was a novice at CCTV! I totally get the CCTV guru's on here being against my eBay and Maplin setup for your various...

Yale 6400 Yet another entry problem

Yale PIR can deffo be used as entry sensor when in home armed mode as mine works every morning when we walk down the stairs. I think it works for away arm mode too. EDIT - it definitely does actually as when we set away arm by mistake we get the 20s countdown still. No good for Lilysdad03...

    Smart Phone

Be careful buying a 4G phone from HK - will it be on the same frequency as 4G in the UK? EE currently runs on 1800mhz, shortly I think 900mhz and 2100mhz too. Voda will be different, as will O2. It may, therefore be a false economy buying a 4G HK phone thinking you can use it on all UK networks...

    My £180 4CH CCTV Setup - A Review

Sorry, only just read this! The noise is only a fan, so loud for a silent room, would have thought it is OK in the loft though. I sit with it in my face all day long under my computer monitor so it cannot be that loud!

    Smart Phone

Note II is a good bit of kit, but massive as far as phones go, which means you then have a limited choice of pockets (if any!) to keep it in. Stylus is a bit of a novelty for everyday use IMO as it's more for drawing etc. or handwriting notes if you really want. Make sure you get some spares...

Old Garage Conversion - Bringing Up to Regs

I guess that's a good point actually, either way I have to put up and finish a set of plaster boards, so all I am saving is the effort of ripping down the first layer of board and the stuffing in of insulation...

CCTV/Home Surveillance Help for a Noob please

Correct, pick up a cheap tab and connect over WiFi (or buy a monitor and cable it back up to your DVR in loft if you like!) Yep, DVR just plugs into your router (or in your case it sounds like a switch, no idea if this complicates port forwarding, would not have thought so as it is based on...

CCTV/Home Surveillance Help for a Noob please

Hi wigwam12. I was new to CCTV too and just installed a budget but good enough for me system. Sounds like it should cover your needs too. For the door you could, as you suggest, just have a camera on the CCTV then have an Internet device like iPad or iPhone near the front door to view the...
