    Lighting and sockets diagrams

Is it not required? I thought the lights had to go from one light to the next. I didn't want to drill more holes in the joists than needed (ie. go horizontally across between those top two downlights) so thought I needed to still run that cable?

    Lighting and sockets diagrams

OK will run shaver and extractor fan off the lighting. Re: downlights, I've had a rear dormer constructed on the roof (contractor did the shell of the loft rear dormer and I'm doing the rest myself). Hence there are two light switches in the bedroom - one goes to the 3 lights in the pitched...

    Lighting and sockets diagrams

I'm running 1.5mm and 2.5mm cables for lighting and sockets in my loft conversion and wanted to double check what I'm doing is correct. The lighting and power supply cables have already been run from the consumer unit on ground floor into the loft. Lights will be on loop and sockets on ring...

Running pipes and electrics through PIR insulation

Not planning to put further insulation across the studs - building control were happy with 90mm Celotex in between studs (although they did want 25mm under the rafters and flat roof joists, both of which will have 125mm in between rafters/joists) Agree pipes would have been better run in the...

Running pipes and electrics through PIR insulation

I'm putting the insulation in for my loft conversion and not sure how to put the Celotex around the pipes and electrics. I've had first fix plumbing done as shown in pics. Tried Googling and searching this forum but all answers were for wool insulation, not PIR. What's standard practice here...

    Roof Leak and Damage Extent?

I'm looking at a house to purchase which needs a lot of refurb work. The roof definitely needs work, but as I'm no expert I'm not sure how much. Below is a pic of the roof from outside: Some roof tiles look like they're caving in? And this is a pic from inside, looking into the loft...
