Using 15mm plastic pipe on an old 10mm copper installation.

Hi all, I am planning to install a new radiator and would need some advice. 1) All radiators currently installed are connected through 10mm copper pipes, I am planning to use 15mm plastic pipes as the radiator will be a fair distance away (around 10m of pipe is required to get to the radiator...

Baxi Bermuda 552 backboiler only starts for 45 seconds and stops.

I have now removed the section of pipe which I knew was blocked for sure (not going to provide a photo but it was really bad), I also noticed a defective automatic air vent connected to the Spartan ET50, it is constantly closed. I manually removed the air from the vent by unscrewing the top cap...

Baxi Bermuda 552 backboiler only starts for 45 seconds and stops.

A bit of news, I removed the Spartan ET50 to clean it, it was a bit dirty, I tested it on its own and seems to work as designed as per the documentation I read. Then I pored some water in the pipe going downwards to the CH system (i.e. towards the 3 port valve) and the water came back up...

Baxi Bermuda 552 backboiler only starts for 45 seconds and stops.

Thanks Tony, I am going to seek the help of a professional, I am posting an ad on mybuilder.com to get someone from the Glasgow area to look at it. I very much agree with you, I am looking getting a conventional header tank and probably replacing the cylinder. Thanks for your help. Ant

Baxi Bermuda 552 backboiler only starts for 45 seconds and stops.

Despite having applied all the good advice from Tony, Daniel and Picasso, my boiler still shuts off after 45 seconds. I noticed something very suspicious though, if I open the draining valve from the flow coming back from the boiler (i.e. the bottom valve in the above diagram), I would normally...

Baxi Bermuda 552 backboiler only starts for 45 seconds and stops.

Hi Daniel, I tried your suggestion (as well as Tony) and no luck so far, I will give it several tries during the course of the day. Here is the picture of the 3 port valve (actuator removed) with the Spartan ET50 Expansion showing an air vent connected to it: Note I included a photo of the 3...

Thanks Tony, I am going to see if I can loosen some of the compression joints.

Baxi Bermuda 552 backboiler only starts for 45 seconds and stops.

Hi Danny, This is definitely a 3 port valve, it is connected this way: I have seen redrawn the above diagram to make it clearer. I very much agree with you, would you have details of a Coil type double feed indirect cylinder (Dublotank 100)?

Baxi Bermuda 552 backboiler only starts for 45 seconds and stops.

Hi all, My Baxi Bermuda 552 backboiler only starts for 45 seconds and stops. A bit of history first... for the last 2 weeks, from time to time my Sunvic MK1453 3 port valve would get stuck, therefore I decided to clean it up (after remove the actuator at the front and flushing the system)...

Loud noise, no CH anymore, DM5601 or MK1453 or EP200 faulty?

Not sure if we are talking about the same relay junction box, mine is actually a Satchwell Sunvic 437-2-802, not a Satchwell 432-2-802... is this a typo on your side? My relay junction box would not work without the fuse (the PCB states that a 5A fuse needs to be fitted) as it would break the...

Loud noise, no CH anymore, DM5601 or MK1453 or EP200 faulty?

The original relay which came with my RJ2802 relay junction box (aka Satchwell 432-2-802) was a OMRON Type MY4, I could have purchased it from http://uk.farnell.com/omron-industrial-automation/my4-220-240acs/relay-4pco-220vac/dp/186508. The datasheet for the relay is available from...

Gravity fed system - Is Heating Only possible?

Thanks for the quick reply. I have moved the jumper of the EP200 to the "Fully pumped" position, did a reset of the programmer and now I can turn on Heating Only.

Gravity fed system - Is Heating Only possible?

Below is a description of my Central Heating system: - Gravity fed system - Baxi Bermuda Back Boiler 552 - coil type double feed indirect cylinder (Dublotank 100) - Salus EP200 programmer twin channel - Sunvic TLM2253 wall thermostat - Sunvic MK1453 3 port valve with DM5601 actuator -...

Loud noise, no CH anymore, DM5601 or MK1453 or EP200 faulty?

Well now it explains everything! I thought that my CH type had to generate hot water to have central heating, I was not aware I could get CH only (I assumed that the water for the CH was going through the coil in the cylinder which in turn had to provide hot water). It seems I have a spare...

    Installing Sunvic MK1453 3 port valve - A & B ports inve

Thanks again Matt! I am relieved I do not have to reinstall this valve, it is located in a closet and really not easy to access.
