    Economy7 - Again

I asked the other day about connecting an additional storage heater up to my timed supply with its somewhat undersized tails. I've now decided that it's probably better to connect one of the two storage heaters, or the immersion heater, to the constant supply via a new timer. Which...

    Economy 7 wiring

Using 230 V gives 31.5 A The tails go through walls, below the floor and through the cavity wall of the flat below to the meter room. It'd be a HUGE job to replace them, if not totally impossible! Otherwise, I would!

    Economy 7 wiring

    My calculation was: 3000 + 2550 + 1700 = 7250 W divided by 240 V (Which all 3 are rated at) = 30.21 A. So much less than the maximum 38 A. Have I made a mistake then?

    Economy 7 wiring

Golf??? I'll have a look in the meter room and see what I can discover. If this is 6 mm cable, am I OK to add the extra heater as described? Cheers.

    Economy 7 wiring

I admit that I've never explored in much detail. Would this be within the same unit as the main switchfuse for the constant supply? There's only one switch on that box...

    Economy 7 wiring

Looking for the expert opinions of you guys. My first floor flat has an Economy 7 setup, with everything on the constant supply except for the one 2.55 kW storage heater and one 3 kW immersion heater, connected to the timed supply via a 2-way CU. I've acquired an additional 1.7 kW storage...

    Sparking Heaters

I have a 2.25 kW storage heater and a 1 kW bedroom panel heater. I have noticed that both seem to generate considerable sparks within the casings, but visible at night through the vents, when the thermostats switch the elements on. Do I have anything to worry about? Thanks in anticipation...

    50 A Shower Isolator?

Cheers for the quick reply. My decor would be of the  "What the f***" variety. Not bought the shower yet, but probably going to get a mira sport 10.8. I've just checked, and that IS 10.8 kW at 240V, so I'm OK with a 45A switch, but only just? Also, I'll need to upgrade from 6mm2...

    50 A Shower Isolator?

I want to upgrade my shower to 10.8 kW using 10 mm2 cable protected by a 50 A MCB. I understand this calls for a 50 A isolating switch. I don't want a ceiling pull cord as I want to keep the switch outside the bathroom, on the wall as with the present 45 A switch. Can anybody tell me where to...
