So what happens if you then go to "Main View" and select the camera. What does it display?

As the camera is being reported as offline I suspect it is a comms issue and not a video decoding issue, hence my request to check the connection details. Check you are using the server port 8000 (not the RTSP/554 port) -- Assuming you are using the default Hikvision camera ports.

I use the iVMS-4500 on my iPhone and iPad with my Hikvision cameras which works fine, and alos connected to my DVR. Just installed the iVMS-4200 software on PC and connected camera and also works fine. Suggest you double check the address/port/user/password in the device section.
