    Layout suggestions - downstairs loo

I'd put your toilet off the hallway rather than the kitchen as there would be nothing worse cooking a sunday roast while someone is having a huge stinky dump right next to you especially after a saturday night out on the beer and curry

    Demolition Hammer?

If hiring isn't economical and you only need it for a few months you might be better spending a bit more on a quality one then sell it on when your done to get a chunk of money back. Maybe even ask at some local hire places if they have any 2nd hand ones to sell

idea of costs for a small single storey extension?

weepingwidow, best bet is to get some local builders round, do a rough sketch, put some measurements on and let them look at the area. I'm sure you'll be able to get some helpful builders to give you an idea when looking at the potential job onsite

idea of costs for a small single storey extension?

You're missing the point, they want a rough idea from people on here not a firm price to the penny :? If they have a budget of 30k and a builder comes round to have a look, which most decent builders would do, and tells then to get the shell up you could be talking £35k-£42k then they'll...

idea of costs for a small single storey extension?

Plenty of builders would come and look. I've got rough plans drawn and builders have been giving an idea of cost. It's not hard to give an idea of the cost for building a shell if you go onsite and look at a job. Obviously until proper plans are drawn an accurate price or quote can't be given

idea of costs for a small single storey extension?

It's not going to cost you anything to get someone round and have a look.

idea of costs for a small single storey extension?

Depends how much you plan to do yourself i.e digging founds etc and if you have any friends who are in the trade. As a rule of thumb people say between £800-1000 per m2 for someone to come in and do it all for you. If you know any small local builders it maybe cheaper or it may not. Are...

    Above garage extension

Looking at the pic would you not end up with very narrow rooms leaving a 1m gap? To maximise space i'd build right up to the boundary but then like people have said you run into issues such as having to have a party wall agreement, the neighbours house is no longer link detached it's a semi...

    electric lawn mower

Bosch, Hayter and Qualcast are all good Depends on your size of garden. I take it that it's not too big as your looking at electric mowers If you want a cylinder i'd probably go for qualcast or rotary i'd go for hayter. stay away from the hover ones

    Deteriorating battery on Dell Vostro

Nope. You've done all you can by letting it run down and only charge when you need to. My vostro battery will only last about 30 mins now. Unless you get the 9 cell one which juts out the back the 3 cell and 6 cell don't perform that well and are notorious for deteriorating quick quickly...

Comapq HP GPU Hot and Crashing

have you got a build up of dust/fluff in the fan? cleaning up the cpu as suggested is a good idea just make sure you put the thermal paste on right. Only a pea size amount and don't be tempted to spread it as that causes bubbles when you place the cpu on the heatsink. When the plates touch...

    Extension cost and advise..... :)

Helpful post thank you. Up in south cumbria so the labour costs seem a bit high. Been told it would be 2 builders. Good friend is a sparky and wifes sisters partner is a plumber so cost saving there for me. People thought to get the shell up and finished would be 12-15k in materails...

    Extension cost and advise..... :)

Someone got out of bed the wrongside  @ theoldun I asked for ball park figures as the quotes i got were a big difference. Like i said after research it can be done and it would annoy the builders on here. Sorry It's like any profession. Do you take your car to an audi garage for...
