    Firstly, the drawing shows a two/way switch. Most 2 way are marked somewhere as 1 way for when used as such. You will need to take the perm live/neutral and earth via the extra cable to the loft and run the live through a new switch up there, or use the extra gang on a 2 gang on the landing.

    Remove the light fittings carefully and gently pull the cable, you should be able to remove any junction box or transformer through the hole.

    The isolator will not be fused. The 20a rating is what the contacts can take, the fusing would be done either in your CU or by a FCU.

    Replace the RED link wire were it came from and fit a length of GREEN/YELLOW as the earth link. Do NOT use incorrect coloured cable as it can be lethal.

    Back in the mists of time(college) i was taught to do plumbing, lead wiping joints as well as yorkshire and end feed. I was also taught to use most workshop machines and welding. I trained as an Electrical Engineer and also qualified as an Electrician. P S i also carry a selection of pipe joints.

    We had a similar episode round here, rear extension built without neighbours being notified(should have been letters sent)enforcement department came round and building control, made them take it down due to shoddy build.

    Not really neccessary, the 5A round ones will do (and cheaper) as they are accessible when light fitting removed.
