Rough idea on price per point

My server room is lacking quite badly in sockets, the current ones are supplied by a 4mm radial run inside compartmented 100x40 trunking. Sockets don't need to be anything special (i.e filtered) as everything is protected by UPS with decent battery life. Just looking for a rough idea on...

    Quick PAT question.

I feel it's quite funny that the electricians on this forum are quick to jump on someone if they forget to add a bit of earth sleeving or omit or grommet from a backbox, yet have no issues arguing that a welder bodged together with a bit of tape is safe. When you guys passed your multiple...

    British Gas Magna Clean quote

Sounds like a joker, price for labour is ridiculous considering the other work he is doing. I would be more worried he thinks your radiators are full of gas to be honest, lol.

    Plumbers Bill

Just so you guys know, i'm setting up a few plumbing companies, the basic gist of the business plan is I come to your house when you have a fault, tell you your boiler is knackered and needs replacing after about 5mins and then charge you for the pleasure. It's a kind of boiler consultancy...

Building regs relating to a front door.

Yeah, all houses have driveways, however flinging a door outwards whenever someine knocks doesnt seem natural at all! JohnD - Yep, the door isn't at all strong, though I wouldn't expect someone to break in via the front door, it's pretty much just the two deadbolts securing the lot. If I...

    Small steering rack

Cortina Mk1/2, Anglia, Pop, most late 60's motors will still be on a box, plenty common, the cortina ones especially, lots of people convert to rack and pinion.

Building regs relating to a front door.

This is the problem with fitting an external door into the arch, there is not enough room to have an inwards opening door, most of the neighbours have outward opening doors and have retained the original, it just looks bizzare.

Building regs relating to a front door.

I've got a 1930's semi, fairly common design with an archway into an open porch and the front door set back by a few foot. The existing door is quite nice, but is starting to rot in places, the stained glass is cracked and it's ridiculously draughty despite draught proofing measures As...

How much for a plumber to repair central heating pipe

I recently had a plumber replace a section of crushed pipework and two new tails to a radiator I had fitted, cost me £60 for 2 hours work, I had already drained the system down and the floorboards were up, I would have thought two hours labour max if the job is as straight forward as it sounds.

    Battening out

Me and a builder friend of mine rendered a single brick wall in a similar way a couple of years back with a waterproofer in it, seems to have kept the damp out, though that was penetrating damp. I think you may be correct, as the damp is fairly minor it may be the correct was to proceed.

    Battening out

Checked inside the cavity, checked the roof, guttering, under the floor void inside the house, seems localised to a patch around a meter wide which is just bizzare, however i guess you guys are correct and it does need to be sorted properly. I have considered retrofitting a DPC into this area...

    Battening out

I had my hall stairs and landing plastered about a year ago and recently its started to develop a couple of hairline cracks and some damp at the bottom of the stairs by my front door. I suspect the damp was always there, the wall was painted with an silver sort of paint or maybe a very thin...

1930s terrace with no felt. Is it necessary?

I bet your house is also "Showing signs of damp" Seriously, surveyors just use about 3 version of a report and print it off. As for the felt issue, it's not there to prevent leaks anyhow, its a backup, nothing more.
