    Give your opinion on this

It should look ok,but the exposed joists will be rough timber not nice smooth stuff. Also i have seen the joists painted matt black, with the ceiling painted white, that looked good. The only problems i forsee is the wirring and pipe work which will be above the ceiling, may need altering.

    Worcester boiler pressure

The 24cdi should be 1.5 when cold rising to all most 2.5 when hot(2.5 is the maximum working pressure, when its at its hottest). At 3.5 the safety valve should have already opened to release all the water to outside the building. Best check the booklet under section headed "sealed system" .

    Worcester Boiler

Hi helen, sorry i didnt see your post earlier. LEAK IN THE LOFT!!!!

It does sound like the thermostat isnt working. The lid on the tank can be replaced by getting a byelaw 30 kit, which includes a lid,an insulation jacket and a mesh guard for the overflow.you will need to know the size of the tank to get the right kit.

    Tileing over particle board floor

PVA adhesive will seal the floor so the tile adhesive will stick properly. I presume in the states it will have the same name as in the uk,if not its the white wood glue which dries clear.paint it all over the floor and leave it to dry before fitting the tiles(+tile adhesive). Good luck.

Hi tp,its a shame you didnt post when the problem started as someone could have advised that if it was a split coil you would see dirty water from the hot taps. There is not a lot you can do about the plumber, except perhaps if he is registered with the institute of plumbing you could contact them...
