good to hear of someone using the heatmiser controls...what actuators have you used in place of the trvs? and out f interest why did you go room by room rather than use the central control unit...have you used this before...i'm leanign toward this over the honeywell....

Thanks guys. Hoped it was as simple as capping the old cylinder pipes, but was worried that as the boiler had 22 ans 28mm feed and returns that there was abseparate heat exchanger for each and by capping the 28mm pipes id effectively be creating a pipe bomb! Now i realise they share the same...

Don't panic...don't panic... New cylinder fitted perfectly fine...just running off the immersion for now and only connected to shower...rest of house on old DHW system which is gravity fed.... can't connect rest of house to new cylinder until old one can be disconnected from old boiler...

thanks Steve...after a coat of paint I've gt to say it looks bloomin good. There's a couple of bits in the corner that are a little iffy but i didn't spend time on that as I knew it would be behind the water tank. Rest looks good, so confident now to try the rest :-) Thanks for the help over...

Hello all...so have my new unvented cylinder up and running so need to get rid of the old tank currently running off the old boiler (super mexico). Heating is pumped and water is gravity. The Danfos 3060 only has options for water with heating or nothing at all, so I need to know how to...

so here's the original wall...have highlighted a few of the issues..also the wall is really not that flat, though I know where that went wrong. Hardwall undercoat was not as flat as it should have been (rushed it) and tried to out the skim on too thick. here's the new wall from today...

Well, sorry to resurect an old post, but I have to say how wrong I was...It's now one of my most used tools. A decent hammer drill will put a big screw in, but the effort it takes to keep the bit in the screw and to stop the drill trying to break your wrist is huge compared to using and impact...

Cheers guys. The mains I had was a 32mm MDPE >> Elbow to 32mm MDPE sticking up out the floor >> 25mm MDPE to 25mm/15mm brass stop tap >> 3" of 15 mm copper to push fit plastic. I'm sure the original fisrt joint on the elbow was leaking slightly but now replaced with 32mm MDPE to 28 copper insert...

had a couple, but they're at the back and cant be seen :-) will sue some solder on the pipework under floor...just trying for now with flux, but it does seem to leak a little on the odd joint :-)

Not fitted yet...as you can see, the primary pipework ends at the service vavle...will cintinue to the right and be fed from the boiler which is going above to the right of the cylinder...

Thought I'd share my Unvented install (not sure why or if anyone's interested, but here goes) had set up the inlet, balanced cold and hot and just setting up the flow and return with balance valve. Found the flow feed fowled the immersion so dropped it down a couple of inches...also...

Thanks! Bought one of those back pack garden spray bottles you pump up when I started...works pretty well withhout covering too much else...but does take a little while...those walls are thirsty!!

Possibly the only time I'd agree it makes sense to get someone in over DIY :-D
