    Poor lead flashing.

    Hi, I'm rather worried about the quality of the roof that our builder is doing on our extension. The lead flashing lacks very poor to me as the lead doesn't follow the contours of the tiles and has large gaps underneath. What are the views of you professionals ?

    Hardwood would be more expensive, but it is just down to personal preference. Personally I'd go for upvc.

    The labourer did the roof at the weekend with his 'mate'. The builder has been on site today, and yes he said he told the labourer that he should have put a piece of wood at the top to fill in the 100mm, but they proceeded to put the lead flashing up anyway, and just leave it! As for getting...

    Because he has used code 3 lead instead of code 4 is it likely to cause any real problems?

    I can fit soffit vents myself if this will help. But that is the least of my problems as I have just been round to the builders house (down the road) and had a big row with him. He is moaning about me going around there in the evening with problems. IF HE DONE HIS F%$&ING JOB RIGHT THERE...

    uPVC Front Door Broken - help!

    You might be able to take the door off from the hinge side. Has it got 'butt' hinges or 'flag' type hinges. A picture might help.

    Oh yes I remember those. Didn't they have a factory in Coventry or somewhere in the midlands. He was a right horrible little s**t, reminds me a lot of my boss!

    Yes, looks much neater if you take those off and plaster.

    Rip those horrible plastic liners off, line it with 4 x 2 or whatever size you need, plasterboard and skim.
