Which solution for a damp solid brick wall?

    1) Next door own the path. 2) Yes I spoke to them first to explain the problem & get permission to have access to their property for the time required to carry out the work, at the time she seemed to understand the problems I was having & was happy for me to do the work. After it was complete...

Which solution for a damp solid brick wall?

I realise this is an old post now but something happened today that reminded me about it. I did actually dig out a trench along the entire side of my house, injected a DP course, put in a land drain, put one of those dimpled cellar DPMs against my wall, lined the pit with garden fabric & filled...

    Anyone else tried Concrete Worktops?

Hi m8 as it's now Sunday I'm guessing I may be a bit late! You could spray a bit release agent in there but I didn't use any & had no problems with it sticking to the smooth white melamine mould walls. My memory is absolutely terrible but think I gave it maybe a couple of weeks to make...

Which solution for a damp solid brick wall?

No my house has never been extended & the path has apparently been there since before next door moved in about 30 years ago. Ive checked & the path isn't above there DPC. I was hoping one of the methods I suggested or someone else could suggest will help? Cheers.

Which solution for a damp solid brick wall?

Just seen the other reply there. I get on very well with the lady that lives there so I'm sure she'll be ok with me doing a bit of work to the path.

Which solution for a damp solid brick wall?

My house was built about 90 years ago & there's about 60 years ago, so at some point in history it was built above mine but it was long before me or next door moved in. I only moved in about year ago & while ripping the house apart came across lots of different bodged attempts that must have...

Which solution for a damp solid brick wall?

Hi there I've got a damp solid brick gable end, unfortunately next door's land is about 150mm higher than my timber floor level. Here's a crude cross section pic: And in here's a photo of next doors path (my house on the right), not sure if you can see but it's pretty mossy & damp...

    Anyone else tried Concrete Worktops?

Sorry for the slow responses but I'm not getting my topic reply notifications for some reason. Anyway I did price it all up have completely forgot it all now. A VERY rough guestimate would be: £20 for sealer £20 for stain £10 for re-bar £25 timber £20 cement, sand, gravel & additives...

    Anyone else tried Concrete Worktops?

I think I got from a company called Kemiko, if you email or ring them I remember they were very helpful with me. I opted for a clear plasticy type top coat that I sprayed on with a spray paint gun. Quite messy if your kitchen is all decorated so you would have to sheet up really well. they do a...

    Completely baffled by Yale HSA6400

Just noticed you posted another reply there JohnD thanks for that! Well its all up & running now. :D The only problem I have is when the control panel goes into arm mode & beeps for 30 seconds to allow you to leave & lock up, the siren also Beeps about every second for the full 30 seconds as...

Any big difference between floor and wall Kingspan?

Can't really help much I'm afraid, I did use the wall Kingspan but a few of my mates who are bathroom fitters & tilers told me they wouldn't tile onto that kind of floating floor. So in the end I bottled it & laid down timber bats the same thickness as the Kingspan every 350mm. This meant...

    Completely baffled by Yale HSA6400

Thanks for the reply JohnD, yes it dose have the telephone connector etc as you described so must be the 6400. Funnily enough just after typing my first post I did pretty much just what you recommended! I put both my Sirens on the floor in the Hall next to the Control Panel, Cleared the...

    Completely baffled by Yale HSA6400

Hi there I'm having a complete mare with a Yale wireless alarm system, I can't see the model number on it but think it's the HSA6400. I installed 2 IR sensors & a door sensor which connect fine to the control panel. However when I get to the Add Siren bit & the control panel sends out a radio...
