When painting - Should radiator be removed?

Hah! Blydi autocorrect, though I have no idea why it thinks I prefer nan to man - mine were always Gran and Grandma. I quite like the idea of a boiler nan too. You'd never get cold. Sadly, all the plumbers locally are men.

It's this stuff: https://www.screwfix.com/p/erfurt-wallrock-fibreliner-wallpaper-white-1000mm-x-20m/1506p Am currently checking out what the reviews recommend...unless anyone here has used it?

When painting - Should radiator be removed?

Yeah, I'm not that keen, but I couldn't stop the water and I really needed to strip the wall. I have a boiler nan coming out in a couple of weeks, so I'll get him to check it.

When painting - Should radiator be removed?

Easier than taking it off completely, but depends on whether the pipes will let you do it.

I have a new set, plus some snap blades. And filler for where it goes wrong.

What have you been doing today?

Stayed up all night to break the back of prepping a bathroom for wallpapering. I 'thought' I had stripped back to a secure lining paper, but it lifted when I sized it so I stripped back further on the walls, then decided to do the ceiling too and wished I hadn't as it's woodchip and rough as...

When painting - Should radiator be removed?

Tried taking off a rad earlier - couldn't stop the water completely so just lifted it off the hooks and lain it down sideways. If there's enough play in the pipes, you could try that?

Building a vanity under a pedestal basin

Yep. Here's another one. All three are pedestal sinks with shelves or a cupboard built around them for a more modern look. (I'd actually love to change the suite and tiles, but I have no funds to do it. I just need to make this bathroom look less dated than it does while spending as little...

Building a vanity under a pedestal basin

Sadly, I'm miles from a Homebase and they don't deliver to my postcode. Ditto B&Q and many of the big shops. Ikea do, but the waiting list for delivery is months. I would still need to cut it around the pedestal. I tried to find something secondhand, but nothing I've seen will fit. That's when...

Building a vanity under a pedestal basin

Sadly, the suite is cream and I can't afford to replace the whole thing and re-tile. This is my solution to modernise the bathroom a bit, plus provide storage.

Building a vanity under a pedestal basin

I'd like to build something like this: Here: Does anyone have any plans or advice on how to do it please? I have several pine shelves that I was thinking of using. (My original plan was to convert an existing unit, but I can't find one to fit.) I'm thinking it would be easier to do...

How to block door for winter?

'Just' the single glazing may not account for the cold you feel from there. First, I would check and replace the weather stripping/draught excluder tape to a thickness that really squishes when you close the door. Check the threshold too. Second, I would look at if the putty/beading is leaking...

What have you been doing today?

I would happily contemplate murder for a decent portion of chips and beans today. My mouth waters at the thought. Sadly, all the places around here are shut. How is your wife doing?

What have you been doing today?

Tip for you all: Liberon Danish Oil is so much nicer to work with than Rustins, which is an ultra-sticky nightmare. Especially when using the flood method. Also, if you're keen on preserving your knuckles: don't use a too-short screwdriver to knock the very-thick skin off a rusty can of oil that...

What have you been doing today?

Not DIY related, but today, I have been disturbed to discover that I'm about the only person I know who prefers beans on her chips. (If you're a ****ter: https://www.twitter.com/dottigirl/status/1277624499312242689 )

What have you been doing today?

Yeah. I usually have it light - I'll just be walking into door frames or staggering when I get up, or just feeling 'off' - but every now and again, I have an attack so bad I can't even move my head without everything spinning and wanting to puke. It's caused by crystals forming in ear canal...
