Replacing sink washer without draining system

HIGH pressure on combi boiler - help!

if you aren't adding any water to the system, filling loop disconnected and it still fills, I'd be looking at the sec heat exchanger or anywhere where the mains comes in contact with the system water. You can rule out the Expansion Vessel if the pressure rises whilst it is switched off.

    CH System

no, its the pressure relief valve pipe, an open pipe that should go out the wall near and underneath the boiler. an extenal drain off pipe should be capped anyhoo, so check that isn't leaking either. I'd check the rad tails first anyhoo.

    Vaillant VUW242E - Pump O-Ring weeping

I always replace them... then again I have a O-ring set that makes things a whole heap easier. You might be better off removing the pump/seals taking it to merchants and getting some matching orings, smear with silicone lube and tighten the pump evenly and firmly onto them. You don't want...

    Lottery of Combi Boilers

Out of intrest, what part of the F30 do you find un-reliable? I find views on Ferrolis to be very polarised. I'm yet to have a problem with one, except the pressure gauge occationally being faulty when fitted, but the reps will give you those free. I didn't realise it mattered when the...

The CB80 is only a SEDBUK D. You are high efficiency exempt? Personally I'd prolly have either a Ferroli F30 *waits to get slated* or a Worcs Bosch.

    Central Heating Leak Sealer

it is likely to be sticking outside underneath your flue, probably in copper and it should have at least one 90 degree elbow in it. Check it isn't dripping, it may also be an idea to monitor the pressure gauge whilst you heating is on... check it doesn't rise drastically. Stainless will...

    auto air vent

A: Not really B: Yes C: Not hard, drain down and swap it out. :edit: it may just be junk it in stopping it from operating correctly, however for the cost of the new unit and ease of replacement compared to stripping it and trying to get it to seal etc., fit a new one.

    Wiring for hob

If you don't want an answer why ask the question? Should be 'I'm going to lay it in concrete even if you give a good reason why not to' (because it will be an arse when you get it removed, and it should be done correctly the first time.) Should be ' I'm going to hide the switch in the...
