Thanks for your replies chaps/chapesses, It's now sorted, 8) It was NTLs configuration settings, I finally got through to them :D

Point is....Just because someone can't fit a plug, does not mean they can't do higher technical tasks, I also know a doctor who admitted that he could not fry an egg :roll:

I know quite a few people who can work wonders on a PC, And a couple of them cannot fit a plug, :wink:

There is a "Allow time update" Checkbox on the "NTL" dial up Configuration settings, This box is ticked, But is also shaded out, so you cannot uncheck it, :( If I correctly reset the system clock whilst offline, It will automatically reset again to the wrong time as soon as I go back online...

Is this the machine?

How can I stop "NTL" from changing my computer system clock? I use the system clock as my screen saver, But "NTL" keep changing the set time, Sometimes it can be as much as 6 minutes slow, I've tried to contact them, But you know what its like :?

Do any of you guys/gals know how to get a computer to control relays etc to switch on/off electrical equipment around the house, Or to input a signal into the computer when electrical contacts open/close, :? I used to do it years ago on the old "ZX Spectrum +2", But have no idea on modern...

Hi to all, hope someone can help? I have got five strip lights under my kitchen wall cupboards, two of them are continually blowing the tubes, (every 2-3 weeks) these two fittings are linked together using a supplied connector cable between them, Why would these two linked fittings be failing...
