Cured.....Turned out to be the thermocouple wasnt near enough to the pilot to maintain temperature, Some adjustment to the pilot shield and system is now working fine . Thanks for all the advise.

Just bled the pump and there was quite a bit of air there but pilot will still not stay lit when igniting the boiler

When power to the boiler is switched on i can hear water circulating in the boiler .

I had to drain the c/heating system to change a rad valve but when completed and boiler switched on, it fired up but was noisy. After a couple of bangs and creaks the boiler shut down. Also the pilot wont stay lit. I'm assuming it could be the overheat shut off thermostat as a new...

Just tested the black with brown sleeve at light switch and its def an earth. Ive been in this flat 10 yrs and never had any electrical problems but this does seem a strange wiring circuit maybe its time for a rewire......

Another twin core cable red going to switch black with brown sleeve going to earth terminal which I assume is going to another a light fitting in the next bedroom

Untill I can get my tester on it I cant be sure its an earth but it is connected to an earth terminal,Also this wire traces back to an earth terminal on the light switch wall box... Strange.... The Red is def live from the light switch
