    Boiler control question - updating?

Right, we've been in the house since Saturday. Now, I can link the pics once I've got them up, but there's a T shaped valve with a Grundfos pump on the "AB" single pipe leading to it. One end of the T goes to the hot coil in the cylinder, one to a pipe that I would assume is the CH system...

    Boiler control question - updating?

Oh yes, it's been quick throughout...we put in the offer on the place 2nd week of april. Today wasn't actually exchange as it turns out, it was all the paperwork, signing etc. Completion and Exchange is happening on Friday! Heh. Sellers solicitors and ours know each other well - this...

    Boiler control question - updating?

Cheers - we're exchanging contracts today, keys hopefully on Friday, moving saturday morn, so pictures can be got then. It's an odd setup...there's a switch (lightswitch!) in the kitchen, and one in the airing cupboard marked "Heating and Hot Water"....not sure quite what that's...

Triton Opal shower does not switch off.

I say not the solenoid. My parents T100E (old beastie) did this, but even the isolator wouldn't stop it. THAT was a jammed valve. If it shuts off with the mains power isolator off, it's an electronic or electrical fault - jammed valves don't care about mains power...:)

    Boiler control question - updating?

Ah! Found the programmer it already has - it's a Honeywell ST699. 24 hour job, basic. Don't really want this, as we don't have a fixed "every day" routine. There's a tank 'stat that looks to be an L641A, and the roomstat is identical in appearance to a T6360B. As I say, it all goes to...

    Boiler control question - updating?

The property we're about to buy has a Baxi bermuda (unknown model) backboiler. The wall controls consist of a 1 day water/heating timer (Forgotten model, but electronic),and a "twist knob" thoneywell thermostat. I want to change the controller for a 7 day one anyway, but thenl I chanced upon...

Baxi Bermuda and gas meter question..

Oh, I'm definitely going to have it checked over ASAP - the house sellers were renting it out previous to selling, so I'd assume they HAD to have it annually checked over then, but once we get the keys I'll have a hunt through for the gas safety certificates etc. I'm a natural worrier when it...

Baxi Bermuda and gas meter question..

Ah, I see! Well, when we get the keys, I'll have a good eyeball of the boiler, as it'll need starting up anyway (utilities off ATM). As I say, sellers have left all the house/fittings documentation for us, which is handy. I did look at replacement boilers..the prob is that the kitchen is a...

Baxi Bermuda and gas meter question..

We're literally just about to buy our first house, and we couldn't for the life of us find the boiler. Then I saw the (mildly horrific) wood effect/metal fire on the wall of the living room, and in a folder, a manual for a Baxi Bermuda backboiler. First reaction was "oh NO, not one of...

    Vauxhall Astra valves

It's an 8 Valver, Z16SE MPi engine. Clubs seem to get that unit. Nice unit as it goes. X16SZR was the 8 valver up to approx 2000 model year. Also a nice little unit. Single point injection there. Open the bonnet, look at the engine. If it says "Vauxhall" on the top cover and the top...
