    The blockage u came across is very common, its where the cooler water meets the hotter, espec' in poorly maintained systems( lack of water treatment), it could do with a powerflush me thinks, which would also clear the crap out of the pump. good luck

    EH>>>MMMMMMMMM he never said full bore.... 10mm microbore from 22mm f&r gives fast heat up to new rad... turning down lockshield on hottest rads! in other words balance...DERRRRR!!!!!!!

    you flux the pipe ONLY, NOT the fitting, remove torch and quickly touch back of joint to see if solder runs, if not repeat the heat, once soldered DONOT wipe with cold cloth till pipe has cooled by itself...easy :)

    get the glow-worm engineer out, they'll fix it in 15 mins tops, could be fan flue needs replacing, or thermocouple, or dodgy gas valve

    new radiator

    inline isolation valves should NEVER be used on heating flow & returns, the small bore will restrict the flow of water too much, and also act as a sludge build up point, my advice is to break into the 22mm flow and returns(heating side) upstairs, drill through to new room and feed 10mm...
