    It should be at 1 as a minimum when cold but a max of 2.5 when hot.but it should not be getting above 2 really as normal running if on 1 when cold. when u take it up to 1 while switched off try all the upstairs air vents then pressure back to 1 then try running.

    Sounds as if the pump is fed out of the cylinder lower down than the top outlet. maybe from an essex boss or a secondary circulation tapping. Quite normal instalation . 2 options get bigger cylinder or have ya shower 2nd.

    why cant you replace the leadall the way to where it terminates. If not there are compression type plastic couplings available .if using the McAlpine type u need to cut out the inner sleeve on the lead side with a stanley knife taking great care not to slip to get it to go on.

    gota read slower guys no mention of new rads just the new boiler in a new location, maybe the cheap guy no's nothing about condensing boilers & how much cleaning of the old system is required. Still coming across fitters who dont fit trvs to existing bedroom rads & no room stat.
