Poor Heat Output on Downstairs Radiators

Yes close the rads that are getting hot some more. It is not just a fact of 1/4 a turn on them all, close so no output then open "slightly" obviously they wont go instant hot so come back in half an hour to see if flowing

What was wrong with the 350f? The valliant vsmart allows smart control of the boiler

Unvented cylinder install - how to notify building control

Post a picture up of the install so the pipe work around the cylinder and the tundish and also where the pipe from the tundish comes out the fabric of the building. I think you can notify BC and there will be a charge but get the photos up so we can have a look

Also what temp is the cylinder set to on the megaflo. I believe that we can run them much lower than the normal recommended 65c when using an unvented cylinder as the water is stored direct from the mains rather than stored in a header tank in the loft. I think there was an additional logic on...

    Hive frost protection

Romo my comments were for others following a thread you have already stated that you have insulation. Your header tanks if lagged correctly will not freeze assuming you are using the house (ie not left empty and unheated for days on end). As you have insulation running the system downstairs to a...

Change to System Boiler but keep existing H/W Cylinder?

Highly doubtful adding rads will "max your boiler out" and these comments about "already at max" could well be rubbish. Does your current boiler (please supply make and model) currently heat your home to a comfortable level (this assumes everything after the boiler is set correctly including...

    Vaillant ectotec Cycling Problem

They do :-) Nightmare tenants slum landlord it aint. But seriously currently currently in dialogue with inspire home automation to get an automated alert (push or email) if boiler calls for heat and no heat rise, have fixed 2 issues (two different properties) before tenants knew there was an...

    Vaillant ectotec Cycling Problem

I have been banging on about this for years. I got sorted with a dev PCB, havent seen a new one in action but glad they eventually sorted. The rumour was that it started high due to NoX emissions compliance more like stupid logic. It was so difficult to get it to hold a burn when a low flow temp...

    Hive frost protection

Is the house lived in? Where in the uk are you? I cannot see anything happening (85% of the uk)unless we suddenly get an artic winter. THis is assuming that you actually use the system and any header tanks arn't right at the very top of the apex. Remember if they are down low then there should...

VR10 is the one that enables smart water heat up. Only really a nice to have as it will control the boiler better during HW generation. So you have noticed a difference already dont go changing anything else apart from your heat curve and see how it goes regarding the cycling and report back.

So seems like system was installed and you have added the vsmart after by your wording? There are a few parameters that need setting correctly and also the simple stat on the megaflo should have been changed out to the valliant thermistor to get the best out of it. Assuming that the vsmart works...

what is d.0 set to? weather compensation only good if radiators are oversized. Crank the heat curve up insure radiators are balanced correctly hopefully not small bore pipe system. Increase d.2 to 40.

does it a lot when? On CH demand or DHW? How many radiators have you got and what is the insulation like of your house. What HW cylinder do you have? What is the tank stat set to? We are now getting somewhere

Have you not read my post? Starting to think this might be a wind up. What is the boiler make and model?

Because the flow temp has exceeded the set point because the boiler cannot modulate down any further. Every modulating boiler has a turn down ratio some go much lower than others.

Ideal classic boiler starts for a few minutes, then switches off

Plastic fitting on the PRV as well although not 100% from the picture if that is what I am seeing cannot see the tundish either

Problems with Vallaint 428 after CP12 check

Ok so thanks to my weirdness I have found a fault that potentially could have cost me a fortune in wasted gas. Even if I didnt pay the bill how many tenants would have realised there was an issue or just lived with the issue and wasted their own money? Not to mention the enviromental saving...
