    Marshalltown trowel problem

I just bought a new Marshalltown trowel but when it arrived I was suprised that the blade was silver, not gold. It is sold as a 12" x 5" Permashape Golden SS finishing trowel - Durasoft, PB7GSDh, 11562. I rang the dealer who said that is right and they are now this colour but all the...

    Help with plaster patch up

Thanks roughcaster and reeves. Now it's drying properly it has gone uniform grey and looks more normal. I wasn't sure about scratching it or not - wouldn't do it next time. Roughcaster - what do you mean by flatten the scratch areas? Go over again with sand and cement and smooth it off ?

    downlight spacing in bathroom

My bathroom is 3m x 2.5m and I would like to have all GU10 IP65 rated downlights with 8w LED bulbs in there. Can anybody recommend the spacing and therefore number I would require? I bought a couple of these lights for a utility room but because the bulb is set back up in the fitting (part of...

    lead flashing advice

Hi, I've got a front porch that is against a rendered wall but the flashing is not correct and is leaking. Currently there is a bell cast at the bottom of the render and the flashing is just tucked up to underneath it. How should I do this properly? I will replace the lead but can I cut it...

    venting a chimney

I'm bricking up an old chimney and will be plastering over and installing a new surround and electric fire in it's place. My question is where should I put the vent? I understand that normally a vent would be put just above skirting level but this would then get covered up by the electric...

    Cables in dry lining insulation

Thanks all. Scoby, if that is the case can I just clear away the insulation for a few inches around the cables to keep the 21A rating?
