    Oast house, problem calculating

Because of this I'd work out two things, first the actual surface area which has already been noted as 18.1 square metres. Then the square surface area, as Johnny_t has also mentioned, that this circle will completely fit into, being 4.8 x 4.8 = 23.04 square metres. Personally, I'd at least...

wind turbine in well known shed

Buying one of these and having it installed, maintained, etc. is probably a token gesture, admirable no doubt, but not going to make any significant difference. This is where the government could invest millions/billions either itself or through the best firms/engineers/scientists to develop...

    Iraq

Pickles, there are conspiracy theories and there are conspiracy theories! Just because many may be outlandish, does not mean there is no substance to any. Unfortunately, the term ‘conspiracy theory’ itself already comes with the baggage of …’okay, here comes another crackpot idea!’ If you can...

    Plastering in bathroom

I agree that in many homes people may do it, but it is a better way and just as cheap to render a brick wall, then plaster. With bonding you will always be prone to water being soaked up in it, especially so in a damp area like a bathroom, so I would always use render on a brick wall. Free...

    Iraq

 It's the other way round since the "liberation!" It's true what Johnny says, it's good to keep an open inquisitive mind. I don't dismiss what may appear on the face of it conspiracy theories outright, but do put more importance to what has been done for sure (as sure as one can ever...

This conspiracy theory stuff is now making me paranoid 8) Wrote a response that didn't send and dumped me from the site  I wouldn't go so far as to say that 9/11 was the hawks doing, but it is in the public domain what PNAC stood for even before the event and they have been able to...

    removal of fire surround

You may well have to damage some of the wall as 2face says. The surround is probably secured to the wall by metal ties at the sides which you'll need to find and free from the wall by slowly and very carefully cutting away the plaster/cement. Try to keep these intact if you want to use it...

    Plastering in bathroom

Surely you're not going to put bonding on a brick bathroom wall  ...you're asking for trouble. Render(plastering/sharp sand & cement) it, then plaster.
