    Hi Thanks for that. Problem I have is that to put a sub base in would mean digging up the existing concrete. Am i likely to have problems if I dont? also, if i was to just cover the old concrete, what kind of mix do i need to lay the paving on?

    Hi Thanks for the reply. My Dad called it a soakaway so i assumed it was right! Its just a plastic grate with a hole underneath which looks like its about 30cm deep, maybe with plastic (?) sides. I'm just not sure how to extend it upwards if you know what i mean?
