    One for the heating engineers !

    I would think that it was reverse circulation as it only happens when the heating is off, but the hot water is on. Checked 3 port by setting programmer to hot water on and moved the manual lever on the valve from auto to the manual position, there was plenty of resistence so assume it is ok.

    Gloworm ultimate running a fully pumped, open vented system. This system was installed approx 6/7 years ago and has been perfect up till this summer. It seems that reverse circulation is occuring on one upstairs rad. 3port is fine and pump fine, any ideas ?

    when you say the pipe was bent to get it over the shower - was this done with a spring or bender ? If not it could be that the pipe has been bent incorrectly(ie by hand) and flattened, which would restrict the flow.

    You should be ok if you use the correct spacings 15mm is 1.2m horizontally 1.8 vertical 22mm is 1.8m horizontally 2.4m vertical If notching joists under floor wrap some hair felt round the pipes

    Double check vs. single check valves

    If it is a mains fed mixer, then according to the water regs check valves should be fitted. If it is a manual type mixer it should be double check, or on auto mixer (ie self dropping) it should be single.

    Hot on the left and cold on the right. I believe it is a british standard but can't remember which one, something to do with uniformity for the blind I believe.

    Thanks boxter When you say pull the stat, i take it you mean the boiler stat ? Would putting a seperate vent pipe in help ? Have not come across a combined feed and vent before. Thanks again
