Potterton Suprima 60L sequence onans off??

when you have changed a PCB for a very large, ill tempered customer and then have to explain to him that he also needs a new gas valve, you tend to remember these things :?

no hot water but boiler heats up to over 70o c help please

sounds to me like your diverter valve needs attention, probably the diaphragm has split

    The TRV mystery

personal preferance really. you shouldnt use a TRV on the radiator which is in the same area as the roomstat, but in my opinion there is no need to fit a TRV to any bathroom/shower room radiator, because whenever youre in those rooms you want all the heat you can get!

no hot water but boiler heats up to over 70o c help please

sounds like your diverter valve is not moving when you open a hot tap. it may only need a replacement diaphragm inside the body of the valve. when you open a hot tap, do you hear and 'clicking' sounds from the boiler? if you do then the chances are the diverter is moving over but the...

    No hot water!!!!

same thing mate. not a bad job to do your self either. turn off mains water at your stop tap and open all the hot taps in the house, then simply disconnect the 3 nuts on the valve. just make sure you replace the rubber washers with new ones (they should come with the valve)

the manufacturer of those mixing valves is 'oventrop'. try putting that into google

Potterton Suprima 60L sequence onans off??

i am 99% sure this is a PCB problem. i have had this issue twice before, and after replacing overheat stats, roomstats and checking the pump a million times i went for the PCB. the pcb cycles the burner and pump, often only enough for the radiators closest to the pump to reach temperature. The...

The " Finger Test " for circulating pumps

the easiest way by far is to remove the vent screw and inserting a screwdriver to see how easy it is to stop the pump running. if you have gone to the bother of draining/bunging the system to remove the pump you might aswell just replace it while youre there! if the pump was knackered then...

    noisy heating system- possible leak?

i agree the work is non-stop, but it will be a sad day when people like us start complaining about too much work...££££££££

    No heat or hot water!

i am assuming it is the same boiler as the british gas RD1, which im sure it is (minus the modem connection!), but an older version may not have the LED's on the board

Problem with a Worcester Bosch Highflow 400

i recently had the same problem at a customers house, after replacing the overheat thermostat and the gas valve, i eventually traced the problem to the position of the thermocouple! the fact that it cuts out on hot water demand suggests that when the burner fires on high rate, the pilot flame...

    ideal isar he30

almost every new house i have been in has an Isar! is this because of ease of installation or because builders (particularly Wimpey) get the boiler for pennies? they are nice and compact and as with everything in life, theyre great when they work, but i miss the days when you could install an...

    No heat or hot water!

good idea steve80, although revealing the PCB is merely a matter of removing 2 screws underneath the boiler and dropping the panel down to reveal the fault finding LED's. if you get an expert to check it out, make sure you go off recommendations, theres alot of cowboys out there!

Potterton 80 Combi boiler problem (s)

i was unaware these boilers had a high pressure cut off device. if the potterton 80 you describe is a Puma, then i would suggest looking at the metal backplate behind the PCB to check for signs of scorching which normally occurs in the top left hand corner, this would indicate a dry soldered...

gas4you, out of interest have you ever seen an ISAR that works ok? coz i havent

    ideal isar he30

older Isars have had a problem with the insulation panels falling onto the heat exchanger causing explosive ignition. a kit has been released by ideal to hold these panels in place. if the kit has been fitted, the heat exchanger might be marked with an orange dot, although i have heard that...

    HE24 (isar) fault

the easiest way to tell the difference between the isar (or 'eye-sore') boards is that the older series dont have the connection on the bottom for the electrode lead and earth. a cheaper alternative to the Ideal call out would be a british gas one-off breakdown charge, which i think is around £150.
