Dare I say it? Primed MDF.

    Why skim plasterboard?

Tape and fill is not that bad if done well and properly decorated. I've got a couple of houses rented out to youthful sharers, one newish build, predominately tape and fill and the other a mix of float/set and skimmed plasterboard. And to be honest, both are treated fairly roughly and they both...

TOYOTA AVENSIS diesel FUEL FILTER PROBLEM

Sounds like the primer pump has a leak - very common, I recently did one on a Peugeot and foolishly ordered a genuine part. About £95. But I could have got a pattern one from the local factors for just under £40. Easy to fit.

    suggestions for external render works

It looks fine to me, why do you want to remove all that render? Is it leaking? If not I would just paint it.

    Peeling paint on plaster

Zinsser B-I-N for the win, pricey stuff though, and open a window when applying or you'll be zonked.

    Peugeot Boxer Clutch

For anyone interested I've just adjusted the clutch cable on this after suspecting a lack of slack and as a result the clutch is biting fine through all gears/revs. I suspect I'll get a little while out of it before needing a new clutch. I was surprised by how much I could slacken it though - a...

Clutch and brakepads on Citroen van....

I'd want to get at least double that mileage out of a set of pads so something's not right there. Are the brakes binding at all? This might account for the judder as well.

    Peugeot Boxer Clutch

Hi all. A '98 1.9 non turbo. I'm planning on putting a new clutch in this vehicle soon as it's starting to slip a bit and I need a new nearside CV joint as well, so two birds and that. (Or three actually, I think I'll probably do the timing belt kit while I'm at it). I've done loads of clutches...

    cost of materials

It's worth keeping an eye on the Tradecard discounts, they cancel any other deals the store might have on, so you can sometimes end up paying more than the special offer. They are good though.

    cost of materials

My local B and Q does bulk buy 5 bags or more of multi @ £4-50ish per bag. Similar deal on 8 x 4 boards. I think it's one of their loss leaders to get you in the door. Also they are the only ones around here to sell square edge, all the merchants do taper edge only.

    Plaster mixing prob ???

I'm not a fan of this sort of thing myself, things trying to look like something that they're not. Think mock tudor vulgarity in footballer's wive's suburbia. [/shudders].... After all, think how much we all used to love those lovely swirly artex patterns back in the day. Give me a nice flat...

Doing up bedroom, boarded/skimmed ceiling, old plaster walls

It's up to you. Nothing you can do about the cut tape now. I can't personally see the point in scrimming the joint if you're only going to cut it off immediately. If it does crack you can always cove it.......
