    Tobin Attacked

...And an 18 year old's, and he was already banged up for the murder of Angelika Kluk, and he had a 1994 conviction for rape and assault. Looks like these murders may be the tip of the iceberg though. As to what happened in Saughton, in the so-called protection wing...I don't know. I...

Do you realy like what you do?

I applied for a job with my current employer cos I thought they would offer good career prospects and relative job security. Twelve years on I'm still there, albeit doing a rather different job. I stay there cos of the security, the people I work with, and the fact that I feel I'm making a...

    Cracking plaster

Thanks for the reply. The cracks are each about 2 feet long and, I dunno, half a mm wide. Whether they were there or not before I don't know, as the walls were wallpapered and tbh after that came off I was too busy keeping an eye on the plumbing goings on to think about checking out the...

    Combi + strange noises

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, pressure is steady at 1.5. Flow sensor, cheers. So, worth getting someone in to investigate the water issue and the grumbling, or should I go on the basis of if it's working just now leave well alone?

    Combi + strange noises

Hi guys My 6 year old Worcester Combi is beginning to worry me a bit. When everything is off it eventually turns off...but then turns on again for a few seconds. It does this three or four times before finally shutting off. And tonight, again with everything off (the heating went off...

    Mobile phone tariffs

Yep, I'm on the same. Not getting a free upgrade is the only downside, but then the money I'm saving on monthly rental I can spend on a new phone... :D

    Cracking plaster

Back in July I got the bathroom done up which included a skim coat of plaster and, about a week later, a couple of coats of paint. It's a flat in an 1890s tenement block. Mid September, after a cold night, a couple of cracks appeared in the wall to the tenement stair, both about 3 feet long...

    My flat or his?

Yup, I used to work in insurance and can confirm this. Assuming there is damage to your flat that you wish repaired, get in touch with your insurers, explain the situation and submit a claim. They will then arrange for the repairs to be carried out and will bill your neighbour's insurers...

    Lighting + blown fuse

Thanks very much guys (and I can't believe I'm still up to reply to this!) All the remaining 4 bulbs went at once though, which hasn't happened before (certainly not since I got the fuse box replaced). And one going doesn't normally trip the fuse box. Ah well, I'll hot foot it to good...

    Lighting + blown fuse

Apologies for posting what must be the most basic of electrical questions but it's late and I can't face doing a trawl right now to find the answer! I had headed off to bed when I realised I'd left stuff I need for tomorrow in the lounge. I went into the lounge to get it, hit the light...

    Little britain

'bovvered' is Catherine Tate, not LB, and I wish she would go play with the lorries on the motorway. Dire isn't the word for it. LB was excellent in series one, mainly because they'd had years to refine their sketches and find out what worked on radio first. The subsequent series...

    Bath seals and big blokes!

Yuk indeed. The fixing instructions which were left don't even mention a brand name; 'made in England' is all they say! But it was accept that sight unseen or be without a bath and shower for another week and a half, so... Don't know about supported, but a plywood floor was laid on...

    Bath seals and big blokes!

That, I don't know. I was horrified at the gaffe I made when I saw them smash up the old cast iron bath (fair dos, it had to go..) and then its replacement was carried up practically under the lad's arm. The tilers insisted it was better that the bath was in before the tiling was done and...

    Bath seals and big blokes!

Um, am just thinking about this. I think they filled the bath, sealed it, then told me to wait 24 hours before emptying it. Which I did... I then had a bath very shortly afterwards as by that point I'd had no bathing or showering facilities for 12 days!

    Bath seals and big blokes!

If he could get Sky Sports and a coolbox full of beers in there he probably would be quite happy to do that... :D

    Bath seals and big blokes!

My bf mentioned last night that when he was having a bath (horrid new plastic bath - long story) a gap appeared round the edge of the bath between the bath and the silicone, as if the bath had sunk lower than the silicone will 'give'. Once he was out of the bath looking at it from above you...
