White Knight Condenser Dryer V. Noisy....

I had a whiteknight. If you think yours is noisy you should have heard mine  Mine also smelt when on highest setting. It turned out that the bearing was shot and that was causing everything else to run slow, thus not enough air flow causing the thing to overheat. I put it on my...

    colouring render

You could try the liquid stains often used for mortar (bricklaying) Most builders merchants will do them. Cant see any reason why you cant put it into a render mix.

Using battons & Plasterboard on brick walls

duckegg, dont give up. a lot of so called plasterers will overprice a job like yours simply because it is either too time consuming to do a traditional plastering job or because it is beyond there capabilities (probably latter) Have a ring around and try to find one of us old timers...

    preparing for plaster skim

Dave, Once you have chased out all the pipes and cabling, put capping over the pipes (same as you would use for the cables) Give the chase a good coat of PVA 50/50 mix and then use bonding as you said. So far as prep work is concerned, make sure you have removed all the little bits of...

Multi-coat, prepare 1st coat before applying the second?

What i mean is that the first coat is firm enough to accept the second coat without dragging it of. Usually by the time you have skimmed all the walls in a typical size room, its time to lay on the second coat starting with the first wall you plastered. I would say about 20 to 30 mins after...

Second coat should be applied while the first coat is still wet  The purpose of this is to give a final troweling coat in order to achieve a nice flat blemish free finish.
