    Could be an air lock . If you have a mixer tap in kitchen you could force mains pressure cold back up to cylinder ,hold towel against spout tightly , open hot tap then open cold tap to allow water to flow back ,if you check airlocks on this forum there are other ways mentioned .

    Is that a it a square hole in the insert . Looks like a 1/2 inch male iron plug. So gas could be live .

    Morning , I've just fitted a new kitchen . Wren wanted £16k and that was self fit except for tops. Also they would did not do a thin tall cupboard and wanted me to cut down two £300 units . I hate the hard sell and 'Oh that appliance is free today ! ' Ended up with DIY kitchens, there planning...

    Its like who wants to be a Millionaire 50/50 and your right answer has gone . I would take the hot mixer tap off ( after shutting water off) and see if valve/cartridge is working correctly . If all other hot taps are working it should be the tap ,as your supply dosent know where it is going .

    If the mixer is stopping the hot water flowing then there will be no call for hot water from tank so pipe will go cold . Can you run shower and bath tap at same time ? If so is tap water hot ?.

    Hi ,you could hire a thermal imaging camera from about £80 a day .Theirs lots of companies out there ,used them before for tracing UFH leaks . Good luck .
