    Safeguarding radius when installing cables

Hmm. Could always paint some galv trunking with a PVA/sand mix to give a brick texture, and then brick red. Once installed, touch up with some mortar coloured paint so it blends in better. Not a quick or easy job however.

Electricity Extension Cables in a Shop

You can certainly use a 4 way (or indeed any number of ways) bar and cord extension. I would steer well clear of the box type socket doublers, as I don't consider them very safe or reliable. Of course you are required to ensure that all electrical equipment is safe, one way to prove that...

Well they've clearly never heard of IDC punchdowns... But what a genuinely naff job they ended up doing!

    Blagdon Powersafe Switch box

So it's not tripping an RCD. Try plugging a desk lamp into it and see if it comes on, even very dimly. It could be massive voltage drop under load, enough to kill the neon. What voltage does a neon need to ignite?

    Stopping weeds under fence

We're slowly blocking access to our veg beds by neighbors bamboo, trees etc by digging in sheets of builders membrane along the boundary, up to three spade depths in places. Stops their roots getting in and our water escaping. Hard work but works a treat.

    Am I fully protected?

You might be able to fit an RCBO to replace the RCD in the consumer unit for that circuit, provided it's recent enough. That would be much easier than individual RCD adaptors on each socket. You can also get double sockets with an RCD built in, again might be easier/neater.

Neutral and earth bar in a consumer unit

Start with the assumption that you don't do something you don't need to. As yourself if there's any reason the earth bar should be split. If you can't think of one, it's probably because there's no need to do it.

Killing gorse - *only just* gardening

I take down gorse regularly as part of a national trust group, all trogged up in thick, long leather gloves, and even then, with a few of you going at it, a few pushing/pulling and another cutting, it's still very painful. Do be careful burning it, it's remarkably easy to get a gorse bonfire...

Killing gorse - *only just* gardening

If you want to do a convincing job, stump out the worst with a chainsaw and burn it, treat the stumps and just keep mowing the smaller stuff. If the remnants of the old fence are still there, you want to get rid of them before you do much else and before too much of it gets buried.
