Help please - air in bath and shower hot water

I presume the pump is being use because the it is open vented system I presume, it might be worth having the pump running and at the same time use a garden hose from the outside tap with water running from it into the hot outlet, then do the same with the cold outlet any water will eventually go...

    New Boiler too powerful??

The vent has always been a possible NOT definite but very possible problem, The steam was not over pumping it was just steam from water not circulating fast enough and over heating, air lock maybe? it can come and go and be difficult to trace it not a physical problem.

    New Boiler too powerful??

I believe it is and it looks like the vent is the left hand one probably in 22mm and then a tee into another tee which takes it down to the pump with the cold feed 15mm prob coming down into the pump tee. If that is the case the pump is pulling down with a negative pressure(sucking) and that...

    New Boiler too powerful??

Well good luck tomorrow, and in my opinion the correct venting of air is one of the most important thing on an open vented system. See if you can get the vent rising vertically from a vertical flow with the cold feed teeing into the vertical vent 150mm above the tee off the flow pipe into the...

    New Boiler too powerful??

It would be possible for a ventury effect to occur especially if the condensate extends too far inside the fitting so that the water that falls past it is causing a negative pressure on the condensate trap inside the boiler. If the gurgling is only heard when the water drains away then that...

    New Boiler too powerful??

I need to know where the air vent is that takes the air out before it goes into the pump. And is the cold feed on the same pipe within 150mm of the vent? When rads are hot at the top and cooler at the bottom it is sludge not balancing you need to take them off tale them into the garden and turn...

New boiler using too much gas

Those figures didn't mean much either because it only worked out at about 12.6Kw input so timing was wrong I think or more likely boiloer was modulating.

    New Boiler too powerful??

It is always a good idea to know what sort of question to ask, and enlightening yourself with a bit of clued up nohow. Get them to check the vent and cold feed arrangement anyway. The pump overrun should be done before a final judgement is made.

New boiler using too much gas

On the front of it does it say Cu Feet or Cu Meters. If it says cubic meters take a reading while the boiler is at full flame working hard to heat rads from cold, read last 4 figures and then after exactly 120 seconds take another reading. Give us those 2 readings and we can tell you the gas...

    New Boiler too powerful??

Boiler should be fine but the plumbing is the problem. You must have the air vent and cold feed in the wrong places. They should both be on the flow in airing cupboard before the valve or valves that feed the heating or hot water. And preferred way is to have the flow rising from the boiler and...

Vokera Linea Max - Hot Water Not Very Hot

Can you be a bit more specific about the hot water behaviour? For example does the hot water run quite slowly know compared with a few months ago, or does the boiler switch on and off while trying to produce hot water, you need to look at boiler while running hot water.Or is it behaving...

New boiler using too much gas

Hi tabby, if you can tell us whether you have a metric or imperial meter, Cubic metres gas, metric. Or cubic ft of gas, imperial then we can tell you how to read the meter with a stop watch or a seconds measuring and let you know how much gas you are using.

New boiler using too much gas

If you have trv's upstairs in bedrooms and kitchen then set them and a lower temp that will save energy, also a programmable room stat save energy since the temp is set to go up and down not on and off. Those two things will; save you nearly as much as condensing compared to non condensing boiler.

New boiler using too much gas

Yes they actually refer to them as a nett figure so multiply by 1.11 to give gross figure. So I stand corrected. and that's the 11% I was saying as well.

New boiler using too much gas

He said 18kw boiler not 18kw output boiler so I reckon its input is 18kw the rubbish is saying not checked when installed, we all know that is wrong.

    Central heating pump not working

You can try removing the chrome cap on the pump and turning the spindle manually there is a slot in the end of the spindle shaft using a slotted screw driver while pump has power to it it should start spinning if stuck but if it refuses to spin then a new pump is needed.

New boiler using too much gas

What he said as a gas safe engineer or as a BG engineer is rubbish. When any new boiler is installed as part of the commissioning process the boiler has to be gas rated and in the commissioning log book the figure is recorded, IF THIS HAD BEEN DONE then they would have found the boiler was not...
