    Fitting a steam bath

Using a socket is no problem. An FCU has no advantage whatsoever. At least the plugtop will give you a definite visible break when you want to do any service work to the bath. Just make sure you fit 2amp fuses inside the plugtop.

    2 way switch

Ok paddy... Heres what you should have... I assume all the red wires are single-core. Terminal L1 on switch 1 should be linked to terminal L1 on switch2. Terminal L2 on switch 1 should be linked to terminal L2 on switch2. These wires are known as strappers. (it doesn't matter if the...

    Any Idea's please ???

Check the sensitivity of the sensor... if it is set too low then even a mouse or the wind can set it off... or even trees blowing in the wind. You can also blank off part of the sensor that faces the neighbours if you suspect they are doing it on purpose.

    Trip switch problem

The proper size of RCBO for this shower is 40 amp. A 40 amp RCBO will carry 40 amps FOREVER and not trip. At 41 amps it would probably never trip either but in any case would take a day or two. A RCBO (or MCB or fuse for that matter) works on the principal of heating up according to the amount...

    painting plasterboard

You can , but it would be recommended to use a pva sealer (called polybond over here) first, especially because it is in a bathroom and subject to high levels of humidity.

ELCB Problem - who is right???

The problem probably lies with the MCB feeding the kitchen sockets (NOT the ELCB). Try turning on and off the MCB for kitchen sockets a few times. IF you find that power returns you need a new MCB. Leave the MCB off for safety until you get it replaced as a faulty MCB can heat up red hot due...

    2 way switch

Ok , try this... On switch 1: swap the wires that are in terminals C and L1. See does this work. If not put the wires back to their original positions and swap the wires that are in C and L2. I dont5 wanna get into why this might work.... so many possibilities i'd be here all night. It...

    Sealing junction boxes

Get a cold pour resin kit which comes in two halves and looks like a submarine. The whole thing is filled with resin once assembled and if done correctly can be immersed in water safely when cured. Just dont go putting it in your bath or anything..

What do i do about the cooker socket

Why dont you just stick a single (or double) socket where the outlet is. Then in the fuseboard move the live wire from the cooker MCB (probably 32amp) and move it into the MCB feeding the kitchen sockets. This will eliminate the danger of having a live socket in the kitchen if someone turned...
