Could be PCB, or gas valve. Went to one once which had explosive ign, so much so it blew the top off the flue!!!! Turned out it was the gas valve. As above, if you can smell gas, something isnt right, far from it!

thanks Kirk Gas, I agree, when its a basket style etc, its fairly easy, but i have trouble when you walk in, and there is either an inset DFE, or an inset LFE. Apart from the flue spigot being applicable to the latter, are there any other way???

Ok, Apart from the MI's, or in the case of a DFE, being able to look right up the chimney with the fire in place, what other ways are there to tell if a fire is a DFE or LFE, if they are inset???? I find this really hard to do, yet some people can tell right away just by looking at it.

Its used 3 weeks over christmas, and the rest during spring - autumn. The caretaker wont be heating the house up all day. In the winter it ison for perhaps a max 2 hours a day to keep the place warm and stop burst pipes etc. DHW will be off. Of cource when they are there its all guns...

Check the air pressure switch, and also the venturi in the fan!!! and ensure tubes are connected to it. You will probally need to remove the fan to get the venturi out!

So, anyone want to take a stab at the possible issues wrong with this then? Its either the switch which i doubt, but i will test today, or the pcb. ANy others?

your right, when its off if i recall, the pin is all the way out, but when fired up, the pin goes in and turns the switch off i believe.
