Car Engine oil in new Lawnmower

Old lawnmower ran on Ford semi synthetic 5/30 motor oil for its seven year life, without a single oil change, its demise was (i think) piston ring failure as it was burning oil badly and smoking like a trooper. So with my new lawnmower ( a £150 B&Q briggs engined job) should i use dedicated...

My trusty petrol lawnmower has cut its last lawn, the engine is smoking badly and has no power when cutting. So we need a new one, Basically its got to be a budget one but with a Briggs or mountfield engine as this previous one has served for 10 years with NO maintainence whatsoever.......any...

PILC is all over the SP network and I would imagine other DNO's too....that was then superseeded by PICAS in the early eighties(paper insulated conductor aluminimum sheathed) which itself had been replaced by the stuff Westie mentions.....At the moment our job is to replace ageing switchgear...

Not seen a Long and Crawford go up without human help before, and that was when a friendly local tried to cut through the cable at the bottom of the gland plumb......needless to say he was partly cremated for his efforts. What was the cable going up the pole not seen that used before ?....

As TonyS says these older Circuit breakers have to be "racked" up into the live busbar spouts and the live/not live circuit spouts, some take many many turns of a handle to rack up, and your stood in front of it....If there is anything wrong (such as contacts dropped to the tank bottom) and the...

The OCB is a South Wales Switchgear D4X circuit breaker and is definately more than 30 years old.......This particular one is in to get the porcelain bushes reset into the head of the breaker......Although its can be done in our shop more than likely, we will send it back to manufacturer to do...

Older switchgear doesnt have blow out panels as such its all made of 1/4" steel and have to be sealed to keep either G38 insulating "gunk" in, or Compund (tar), this one has actually contained it well, this was off probably a 30-40 year old 33KV transformer as far as i know. More modern...

    6 megawatt battery backup system?

Worked on an early windfarm nr to Burnley around 1992, it put out 10MW and its still operating today....Each Wind Turbine had a 415/11kv transformer and ring main unit used to step-up the voltage for distribution around to the purpose built grid transformer that (i think) stepped it up to 132kv...

Our Hotpoint Larder Fridge has started tomake its contents ice cold and the bottles of pop on the top shelf are actually icing up. In my limited knowledge I think the thermostat must have gone.
