hi
by saddle set, i take it you mean a "bubble"...if so....
mark a line for the middle bend and mark two lines either side, say 150mm. now put a mark on your former a bit in from the edge.
next put in your tube and offer up the first mark to the mark on the former and put a small bend in...
i dunno from your pics but.....
if you have bolted your trunking to the ct chamber you could not perform a Ze check as....
when you disconnect the earthing conductor the trunking is still connected to the head (parallel paths and all that)....
i am only commenting as i was pulled for it a...
yes, quite correct....
if you are a "non-electrician" you have to sign an EIC for "design" and must use the maximum cable lengths given at around p40 of the OSG. these lengths are given to enable the "less than competent" to be, in the niceic's eyes "competent"
hi
the reg basically says we can sometimes fit a con-unit with a single pole isolator so long as it is not a TT fed supply
in ireland you cannot fit a dp isolator under any circumstances, it must be sp irrespective of supply, i just dont get it
hi all
chapter 46 tells me i can, in certain cases, have a single pole isolator except where the supply is TT and the neutral cannot be reliably assumed to be at earth potential.
i dont get the IEE's angle on this and would welcome an explanation from forum members
ps hats off to...
hi
the easy way to do it is this....
1 disconnect the neutral at the imm heater...
2 power up the element and start checking...
3 if the thing was right you should get 240v to earth at the stat (both sides) AND at the neutral of the element....
4 if you get a supply at both stat terminals...
hi dingbat, i only know him by his username. i think you know will know him as the ban-all sheds man...
the colossus of critics.
i am waiting in nervous anticipation
nope, dingbat is a lynchpin on here, but too biased to my corner(teach to teach, and all that)
no no, this guy is far more openly critical and has the uncanny ability to see deeeeply into things.... a person to pull things apart....
hi securespark
i already have an ongoing review from a forum member....and i nervously await his comments....
now here is the question, who did i choose?
which member would i most most dread to do a review of my work?
who do you think i would choose?

hi
had similar today, it was a plugged in trailing "surge divertor" multi socket thingy that was doing it...
unplugged it and got 4M ohms to earth.
could it be this?
hi
sometimes if you get a bad reading you have to ram the plug in and out quick a couple of times, and flick the switch on and off a couple of times to improve the reading.
it may be due to dirt/ oxidisation on the plug/socket connection and switch contacts.
crude but effective as the tester...
hi
we fit a merlin 80A dp breaker in a small metal enclosure
the 80A unit is 3 standard modules in size, not two, so our enclosures have "half a blank" fitted each side-if you know what i mean!
don't know the catalogue numbers, but this may lead you to it :D
hi all
