    WOW, cant believe how the Alarm technology has moved on so much from the basic Key op panels and optima XM4 panels. Once again chaps thanks for the advice, but the above extenders all seem to be way above my knowledge. I was looking for something a little more simple to understand :oops:

    The alarm panel is in the garage and the shed is around 10 metres away through a double skin brick wall.....I would incorparate it with an existing zone or re-configure the panel to create a separate zone...Thanks for the advice, would you have a link to one?

    Spot on mate. in SP, Primary 33/11kv transformers have tapchangers that will tap up or down automatically depending on the voltage, secondary 11000/415 transfromers have manual OFF line ones so need to be isolated before adjusting manually.... usually set at tap 3 for around 248V output...

    If you are using P2P file sharing websites BT throttle it terribly at times....even slower than normal broadband. I find after midnight its fine.....

    If you go for the diesel option, especially the 1.6 (DV6 Engine) change the oil every 6000 miles, even if you dealer service it every year. Always allow the engine to idle for a time before stopping engine.....The turbos are very prone to failure from poor oil quality and overheated oil.....

    As per title what is the correct tool for terminating a phone cable into those BT sockets.....I know there is a plastic cheapo type one but is they seem to be only good for one or two uses......?
