Tommy in trouble with far right.

So you believe there is a special place in hell for the UK because they don't support a foreign country.

Tommy in trouble with far right.

Looks like Tommy's latest trip to Israel hasn't gone down too well with British nationalists. The English patriot with the Irish passport, has really upset a lot of people.

You do talk nonsense. The reason for any religious imbalance in the RUC was because the Roman Catholic Church discouraged and in some cases threatened to excommunicate Catholics who joined the RUC. The IRA threatened to kill any Catholic who joined the Police. Despite the threats there were...

That's just conspiracy theory bollax, some of these people will say or write any old nonsense to get people to buy their books or watch their documentaries. How many members of the security forces have actually been charged with collusion.

The IRA that was around at the time , was the Official IRA , they were a Marxist type organisation, their political wing was the Workers party. Their leadership didn't want to get into a sectarian war with Protestants, that caused a split which resulted in the creation of the Provisional IRA ...

The old collusion cobblers. Yes there were instances of collusion but at very low levels. As I pointed out in my previous post, it wasn't surprising that some members of the security forces pass information to terrorists, but what really surprised people was the fact that there was so little of...

The figures speak for themselves. In N.Ireland 90% of deaths were caused by terrorists. In Gaza over 90% of deaths were caused by the Israeli army. The British army and the Police have record to be proud of in N.Ireland. They saved 1000's of lives by degrading the terrorists operational...

Palestine is a separate state from Israel. N.Ireland is part of the UK. Look it up.

It's not an opinion, it's a matter of fact. N.Ireland or Ulster, which ever you prefer, is part of the UK, and as such the deployment of the army to support the civil authorities was a legal obligation under UK law.

On balance the Paras saved more lives than they took. If the mob had overrun the Para lines, then the a lot of soldiers and civilians could have died. If you look at the footage at the time , the rioters outnumbered the security forces and were closing in. Another point is why did the riot...

All deaths by the security forces were investigated at the time. Most of the deaths were of IRA terrorists who were in the act of trying to kill innocent people.

That is true, but the British army in Ulster is not an army of occupation.

Interestingly it was the Catholic/Nationalist community who wanted the army to be sent in to protect them in 1969. So much for the claim that the army was an 'occupying force'.

I did make my mind up. I said that soldiers don't make good policemen. I also said that using soldiers was unavoidable. I used the word unavoidable because at the time there was no alternative. The situation was such, that soldiers had to be used due to the seriousness of the emergency.

The IRA don't represent the majority of the population, either Nationalist or Unionist. They had no mandate from either community to use violence for political ends. All they achieved was to start a sectarian war between Protestants and Catholics. If the British army hadn't been there , it would...

That's true but you can't accuse just anyone without enough evidence to justify the prosecution in the first case. This soldier F is just the latest of a line of elderly veterens who been charged, only for their trials to collapse or be acquitted. Some haven't been so fortunate...
