Pts usually have them in stock as bg use them. Not sure about other merchants, think I saw them in local Plumbase also but were more expensive there. Think Pts was about £80 plus vat but I have no terms with them. I still believe the mb3 doesn't catch nearly as much magnetite as adey ones...

Fitted about 20, had one leak slightly at the push fit o ring bottom connection on the unit. Removed and had a look and there was a wee nick in the o ring, whether it was me or factory not sure but Pts replaced no problem.

As said combi boilers don't require a timer for hot water as they give hot water priority whenever tap run. Some for example Worcester boilers can still use a two channel clock but this is something for hot water preheat function, when a combi boiler is turned on, hot water is always available...

Also worth noting that the pump is controlled by a pump over run thermostat in the boiler, it senses the temperature in the boiler, if system is still too hot and pump over run is on, turning off the programmer shouldn't turn pump off, it sounds like the boiler isn't wired correctly, and...

Plumber has maybe closed bypass when replacing the 2 2 port valves. If the pump is wired to the boiler and bouler set for fully pumped, the system needs a bypass before the 2 port valves, or the heat will have nowhere to go to when pump overrun is active after a boiler demand.

Plenty of the older ones still going strong up my way. Usually if I'm called to a repair it's normally failed pump or faulty mixer valve, the water is soft here too so Luckily don't encounter scale in dhw circuits. Not many of the more modern ones so can't comment on them.
