thanks do i def have to drain the system to change the valve?

its ok i did anticlockwise, i remembered, but its still leaking, please dont tell me i need to drain the system and fit a new valve, im not putting another radiator back in there, can i just use ptfe to seal and waterproof tape, even temporarily, if so can i put heating back on, ps thankyou to...

dont want to make any more mistakes, its def clockwise to tighten, the body part above seems quite loose

hi i was wrong about the radiator valve the one on the right with the valve inside i turned off, hissed a bit when i checked it again, and it is leaking, seems a bit loose - do i tighten the bolt under it?

i dont know if it means anything but i used the taps to try again, it sat at one, then fell a 1/4 bar quite quickly, but when i ran the hot water it rose to 1 bar again. i will prob get a plumber out tomorrow!

can i use my gas fire meantime, if i have to turn off the heating?

i was told to turn the taps on until it reaches 1 bar cold, then i switch them back off and put on the heating again, it doesnt go up further, just gradually drops down to zero over time.

i checked the old radiator pipes, dried them and really no leaks, unless something under the floor! But i was careful taking it off, used to spanners the pipe wasnt disturbed. But every time i top up the pressure in an hour or so it drops again, can i still use the heating, its not hot in...

hi the pressure dropped back down again earlier, should i just do the same again, or do i need to try something else, the heating is working ok though, can i still use it with the low pressure? thanks jeanette

hi thanks for your advice, though i wasnt sure what one bar cold meant -did you mean with the heating off? I turned the two taps a little til pressure went up, then put them back where they were originally is it that correct, seems ok now, thanks again, jeanette ps i dont normally mess with...

i read online all i had to do was shut valves and remove the rad. Im not a plumber! i havent touched the water pressure, but its sitting at nothing, will i have to get a plumber. Ps the radiators, hot water are all working fine.

hi i removed a radiator, closed the valves first, maybe im over cautious but the remaining radiators sound a bit noisier, i can hear the water running in, will that settle? :?
