    Battens over pebbledash?

I was thinking, if I have to go in that direction - Foil backed thermal roll and heavy duty rubber flooring. The ‘original ask’ was a separate utility room which was quoted as £20k+ and got rightfully dodged

    Battens over pebbledash?

Even if I build some walls, with air gap and 75mm. I’m not building a new floor, so the concrete slab is going to be an issue - sigh

    Battens over pebbledash?

Tell me about it. TBF it’s not the fire risk, it’s that the tumble drier ‘wrecks’ their clothes. I’m working out the cost now. Battens, a basic foil and some boarding has got to be the way to go. The ceiling will have 100mm PIR but thats more because I discovered the worst installed rock in...

    Battens over pebbledash?

my partner is dead against a tumble dryer and would rather spend the money on 50mm insulated dry wall and an electric rad…

    Battens over pebbledash?

I’m updating the insulation in the ceiling/floor of the room above, so taking the opportunity to move the washing machine and generally upgrade. But, I don’t think it’s worth insulating the whole space and putting heating out there. A heat pump dryer might be an option, we have a condensing one...

    Battens over pebbledash?

One of my garage walls is pebbledashed - I assume it was an external wall way back when. Would be great if occasionally with a heater and dehumidifier I could dry clothes there. I was thinking I would use basic battens and an eco foil, with board over the top. Anyway. To batten the pebble...

    9.5 or 12.5mm garage

Specs say it’s an extra 5kg per board, I bet it tells. I got given a pair of telescopic props, so feel I should struggle with them rather than hiring a lifter.

12.5mm x 2 is required for fire regs?

    9.5 or 12.5mm garage

I’m replacing a thin and poorly insulated ceiling and dry lining some new walls in my garage/utility. The current ceiling doesn’t look to be fireboard or even doubled up. Am I ok to board the walls with 9.5mm and then double board the ceiling? This will keep wastage at an absolute minimum. Or...

Adding a washing machine in my garage close to boiler?

Well compression T on the incoming cold and outgoing hot water, not the central heating rad feeds

Adding a washing machine in my garage close to boiler?

I would need to crossover the condensate pipe, maybe push to fit installation?

Adding a washing machine in my garage close to boiler?

I am insulating my garage and moving my old kitchen there with sink and washing machine. The boiler is also out there and the stack pipe is against one of the walls. Originally I’d planned to run hot/cold water and waste into a toilet inside the house. I’ve seen some straps with universal...

    Washing machine - sink - 32 /40mm

@Madrab - cross wires. My initial idea was to replace the soil/pan pipe with a new boss. But I think coring out and a strap for what might be a few months before a pro comes in and scrap everything is a great way to go https://www.screwfix.com/p/floplast-strap-boss-black-110mm/82795

    Washing machine - sink - 32 /40mm

On the current fitting - I get you. That might be the way to go I made the mistake of whipping the plasterboard off the wall to have a peak. Whoever did the pipework to move the boiler from under the stairs into the garage clearly never thought anyone would do that. I was momentarily concerned...

    Washing machine - sink - 32 /40mm

@Madrab which sink or both? If I did want to switch up everything to 40mm can anyone recommend something that allows me to plumb 40mm into the toilet outflow? I can’t seem to find anything

    Washing machine - sink - 32 /40mm

FWIW - this is where the 32mm goes into the toilet pipework. It’s in the corner behind the toilet. On the right is plasterboard. Even just to see what’s here means removing part of a wall. Changing this connection at all means uninstalling the toilet for sure

    Washing machine - sink - 32 /40mm

I’m moving my kitchen sink and washing machine into my garage and routing the plumbing into the downstairs toilet. The downstairs toilet is due to be upgraded in several months time with the rest of the kitchen. I’m getting ahead of all that, so there’ll be a significant time gap. It’s an...

    Garage electrics

1 day to remove/move everything that is there to a position where I can start building the wall structures and ceiling insulation 1 day (some point weeks after) to wire up the new system. Or make it live if I’ve run the cables. I don’t see how I could build all the relevant walls and cable...
