Boiler doesn't start - Bosch Worcester 24Si II

Then my first thought would be flow switch, this switch tells the boiler you are running a tap so it knows to fire. If you run the tap and nothing happens, it's probably that the boiler doesn't know you've turned the tap on. By trying the heating, you've established that most of the components...

Whining noise and loss of pressure from combi boiler - please help

So, it was low on pressure and noisy. You topped the pressure up and now it's not noisy. Just keep an eye on the pressure over the next few days to see what happens. If the pressure vessel was faulty, the pressure would rise very high and very quickly in heating. Also water would be seen coming...

    CO alarm regs landlords.

As said, it is NOT a legal requirement for a CO alarm for purely gas appliances in England although that may be different in Scotland. It is however a legal requirement for log burners in rented accommodation

How should hot water perform with a combi boiler?

If the water is getting hot, then running cold for 10/20 seconds, then hot again and staying hot then that can be normal especially if the boiler is already on for heating. The water within the boiler gets hot because the boiler is already on or it has been pre-heated and that is delivered to...

    Thermostat/Radiator conundrum

Normally yes, but if the room the thermostat is in regularly reaches 21+ quickly, then the stat will turn the boiler off early. Set the stat to the right level for you house/comfort level. The stat will still control the system if at 23 but allow the rooms to reach temp and the TRV's to do their...

How to add water pressure to this boiler? (with pics)

In your last picture, below the two red knobs is a silver flexible hose. At the bottom of it is a valve with a slot designed to fit a flat screwdriver. Using said screwdriver, turn the valve 90 degrees and you'll hear water entering the system. When the pressure gauge reaches 1 to 1.5, turn the...

    Hive or something else?

Hive will work without the internet, it will follow any times already programmed or you can turn on/off/up/down/boost via the thermostat on the wall. The only functionality you lose without the internet is via the phone/tablet remote stuff. Hive also now has remote light bulbs, plugs, motion...

gas bill query re pilot light

If I have read you post and replies correctly, it seems as if your provider has not been able to access your meters to get a reading. In that case they have to provide an estimated bill based either on your previous usage or an average for you type of house. If this is the case you need to...

Power Cut last night now central heating doesn't work!

shouldn't matter about power cut, your heating isn't working and they will fix it. It all depends on whether the mid pos vale is sending power onto the boiler or not, if it is, the fault then lies at the boiler. If it isn't, then the system controls are the fault. Either way, BG will sort it.

Power Cut last night now central heating doesn't work!

OK, I see from previous posts you have a mid position valve, do you have the equipment or knowledge to test for voltages at the system junction box

Power Cut last night now central heating doesn't work!

Firstly, some questions to help find problem. Is boiler blue light on, is the programmer asking for heat (lights on). Also, are you on BG contract, if so, call them, you are paying for that cover, let them help you
