I am not sure it would help, I took a working PIR from another zone and put it in place of pir1, reconfigured it to be of the Entry type. It was all fine in the beginning, but then later on I've got the usual tamper warning on the CU and the new pir flashing red as well.
I am now thinking it...
Thanks for your advice, saved me from doing unnecessary system reinstall .
The problem with pir1 was that tightening the screw too much caused the temper alarm to activate somehow. Also found a sequence for clearing notifications from CU (Code-OK-Back), that helped to avoid further confusion...
Hmm, 4 car key fobs stopped working at once this morning as pir1 was flashing, so I assumed it may cause interference the other way around. Maybe will try to remove and re-add pir1 first as it seems to be the one causing the problems.
I've checked and cleaned the terminals already. Also the Test button worked when I changed the batteries so I assumed it was OK. The siren and PIR tamper notification appeared a few minutes after it was mounted back on the wall. I am not sure, but I think it might have been caused by someone...
Thank you for your reply.
Yes they are rectangular types and there is a jumper inside.
I should have mentioned the Pir1 low battery notification was still on on CU display. I followed the instructions closely, - put CU to program mode to disable tampers, changed batteries, exit program...
Hi,
Having problems testing it, the setup is simple: control unit and 4 PIRs (1 entry + 3 burglar), the layout as below:
PIR1 PIR2
CU PIR3 PIR4
- Pir1(entry) started flashing indicating that batteries need changing.
- Changed the batteries, did a walk test - only pirs 2...
Thanks, did a test connection, - works like a charm !
The body is indeed metal (with a layer of paint all over it), where can I get a spare green/yellow wire, it is not in the box and I don't remember seeing them in B&Q ?
The new light (Homebase Colours Bathroom) looks like it needs L & N only (blue and brown wires). But the old light had two browns. I am not going to remove the rose, hoped to stick the new base over it, but the existing wiring puzzles me.
I know nothing about the valve mechanics, but if it is sticking wouldn't it just keep the state (like not switching off when OFF button is pressed) ?
It rather switches on and off by itself without any interference from control panel. E.g. timer is set to heat from 18:00 to 22:00, then from...
It appeared that the frame wasn't glued at all, but kept together by 2 dowels at each corner. Only had to make one cut, and then was able to take it apart. Quite satisfied with the end result, as the cut ended up being at the ceiling level and is hardly visible.
Hi, I have a British Gas F2 (Potterton) Boiler which have recently started behaving oddly. It switches itself on at random times, even if the control panel is set to OFF or Timed OFF (both CH and water). There were no recent changes to the system or in the area around boiler.
It does not go...
Hi
I need to reduce the door below by about 10cm in width to match a custom cabinet size, what is the easiest and neatest way to do it ?
The best way would probably be to dismantle the frame first, but don't know how to do it properly. I've read that you could use a heat gun to melt...
Well, that's the thing. Good tradesmen are normally busy for the next several months and generally won't take small jobs.
We still had good ones from these sites, normally people between projects etc., and also cowboys from recommendations, you never know.
Thanks, that helps, I'll check the link.
The problem is that I've got 5 tradesmen interested in the job and none of them seem to be willing/understanding to issue this certificate. I need to change that shower before temperatures drop. I would try to find a certified electrician but I guess...
Got this reply, what does he mean by "is not part of a U.K scheme"?
and one more:
"I have a 'city and guilds level 2 in electromechanical technology - installation" and "City & Guilds 2391"
Tho this does not allow me to self certificate my own work, I can make the connections for you and...
