    Pump Problem

Thank you for the reply guys. Here is a picture of the hot water tank showing where the hot water is tee'd from. I have ringed the tee in red, it is the copper pipe which then becomes the plastic pipe going up into the loft. It's about 70 cm from the floor. The pumps are lower than the tee as...

    Pump Problem

I think this will be a difficult one to answer but here it goes. Previous owners in our house had an extension which added an ensuit. In the ensuit there is a toilet, sink and shower. The shower and the sink are both supplied via two pumps. The sink has mains pressure cold water and a...

    New Plaster problem

Update. Went with the Hardwall / skim option. All went on a treat and has dried without any cracks :-) Decided to rethink the tile size and will probably go with bevelled tiles in a brick pattern. Thank you for all your replys and help.

    New Plaster problem

The area I have applied PVA to is where I need to plaster. Its bare brick. When I was chipping off the old tiles a chunk of plaster came away. The rest appears sound. I've tapped it and it doesn't sound hollow. So if I apply the Prime over the top of the PVA thats on the bare brick my cement...

    New Plaster problem

Well, the good news is that due to work commitments I had to abort todays plastering session. So, cement based tile adhesive. If I go down this route what is acrylic prime and how do I use it? Will it go over the PVA I've already put on the wall? The depth of the area I'm filling is about...

    New Plaster problem

Hi Peaps, Yes, I'm guessing it was a finishing plaster. We had a kitchen extension and it was left over after the plasterers skimmed the plaster boards. I've read on another site that I should use Thistle Hardwall as I'm plastering on to brick about 1.5cm thick. Apply PVA leave it over...

    New Plaster problem

Hi All, I recently removed some tiles in my bathroom. An area of plaster came away with tiles. I'm going to tile over the top so I decided that I would replace the plaster. I had a bag of plaster left over from some building work 2 years ago so I decided to use that. I bought some PVA...

    Earthing a Steel Bath

Hi John, I was assuming that the second wire (painted white) is bonding the pipe work to the electrical circuit. Perhaps I should get a sparky in to check it out!

    Earthing a Steel Bath

I've had a closer look in my bathroom. The water mains comes into the bathroom and here I can clearly see where the meter has been bonded (yellow/green wire) coming from the bonding is an additional wire that has been painted. I assume that this will be the bathroom bonding. So, do I need...

    Earthing a Steel Bath

Hi All, I am about to install a steel bath. The bath will have a shower over it but not an electrical one. The only electrical power in the bathroom will be the lights in the ceiling. Do I need to earth (bond) the bath? Should all the pipework be bonded? If so how? Is it a...

    Sadolin

I erected a closed lap fence earlier this year and now want to stain it. Has anyone used Sadolin Shed & Fence Protection? Does it last 5 yrs or more? Or can anyone recommend a good quality product thats £15-£20 per 5 litre tub? I have 30mt of 2mt high fencing to cover so I'm thinking...

    Hormann/Garador remote fob

Hi All, I'm not sure if this is the correct forum for my question! I have a Garador electric garage door system. The remote fobs that came with it are quite expensive to replace. Could I buy a none branded fob that operates at the same frequency '868.30 mhz' and use that? Thank you...
