    Vertical radiator loosing heat

Anyone?? Should the flow go at the top and return at the bottom? Or the other way? also, lost as to why I can hear water in the radiator every time someone turns on the hot water tap. Never had this before the boiler was swapped a few weeks back.

    Vertical radiator loosing heat

In my small mind it would make sense to have the flow at the top so the hot water doesn’t have to try working it’s way UP the panels. But that’s just me and welcome thoughts from the more knowledgable.

But this diagram shows the intake at the bottom.

    Vertical radiator loosing heat

Would the last panel still get hot?. Was just wondering whether the water would shoot up and then head towards the return rather than making it way down into the other panels?

    Vertical radiator loosing heat

Woke up this morning and the rad was stone cold... when someone turned on the tap downstairs, you could hear a loud gushing water sound in the rad.... not sure if it’s because the central heating switches to hot water and the noise is because of small pockets are air trap around the rad which...

will try this. But why would the rad get fully hot for about a week OR if I air out some water OR if I turn off the other rads.

    Vertical radiator loosing heat

Update... just as I feared. After 5 days, same problem. Only one panel is hot, the other 3 are only warm. All panels were getting hot for a few days.

    Vertical radiator loosing heat

Oh man.... this is what I’ve just done. The vertical heated up and then I opened the others enough to let the hot water flow through, starting with the one closest to the boiler. The only rad which needed about 1 full turn was the towel rad near the vertical. It took a while for this to heat...

    Vertical radiator loosing heat

thanks. going to start balancing each radiator starting with the one closest to the boiler and see how it goes.

    Vertical radiator loosing heat

the radiator next to the vertical is a towel rad which heats up nicely (it always has). the system was power flushed about 3 years ago and ago couple weeks back. What’s really confusing is that bleeding the rad of some water resolves the heat problem for about a week and then it’s back to...

    Vertical radiator loosing heat

Turned off the nearest radiator and it didn’t make a difference. Also with both valves fully open, I can hear Water trickling down the radiator. This isn’t normal right?

    Vertical radiator loosing heat

thanks will do. Should both valves be fully open on the vertical?

    Vertical radiator loosing heat

the rad does stay hot... for about a week. The return valves is hot but not as hot as the flow. Both valves are fully open.
