The gland nut is the small nut at the base of the spindle that is sticking out the top of the valve.ie the bit that turns on/off. Clockwise will tighten.

A 1/2 washer for 10p will do the job.

Check the small gland nut 2ins above as it could be running down to where you think it is leaking ? If it is where you say then give it a tweak and see if it stops. Don't overdo it .

You won't have a problem. Galv iron would be a problem but not lead to copper. Just think of all the fittings sweated with leaded solder :shock:

Hi: I had a concrete garage in my last house and i used timbers plugged and screwed inside and out.The inside was then covered with stirling board and the outside with shiplap.Here is a pic of the outside and you would not know the concrete garage was sandwiched in the middle.

i think your GC no is 44-590-03 ? check the gc no before ordering.

check the GC numbers are the same. Is yours 44-590-04 ?

Hi. I've just had this problem in a small cottage and so i cut through one side only and folded them in half.I made sure the cut was on a timber and when folded back out you can't see the cut line :idea:

Try flushing it through.Hold the prv open and top up the system at the same time.Could just be a bit of dirt.Or do as Namsag said...He's up early today must be off to Cheltenham to back cuecard in the first :wink:

Some don't need the plate and just pull together with the two bolts that go through the cistern & pan.

I was gonna say was that a council property and then i spotted it. I worked for years on council servicing contracts and came across it all the time from what the cowboys had left in previous years.
