    Wall fixing advice

How long are the plugs? Just get longer coach screws and use the plugs you have. Start with the length of the plastic plug, add on the extra distance from the face of the block/brick wall to the real face of the wall, and add the thickness of the bracket, which I think you are implying is 10mm...

    Flush NTE5

This snapshot is taken from their Developers/Builders guide... They literally recommend a steel recessed box. Sometimes you may have to bend the 'unwanted' top and bottom lugs out the way, it depends on the master in question.

    lighting wiring & switches

Ideally, the black wire should have a red sleeve, just think of it as being red for now... The live comes down one of the red wires from the rose and feeds both switches(you'll find a little loop wire joining them). Then, the live either goes back up another red wire for the hall, or the other...

DeWalt DWE560 circular saw change shoe

46 is just listed as "PIN", which looks like this... So, it's not a split pin, so will probably be a nightmare to get out!! Seeing as you are replacing the shoe anyway, can you bend the the part of the shoe holding it outwards to release it? Especially because of those tapered ends you see in...

Fixing a tv to the wall

It sounds like you have insulation backed plasterboard... Are the walls pretty darn thick, i.e. when stood in a doorway? Long fixings needed, as mentioned. Put them most the way in with a drill and do the last little bit by hand and don't go too tight.

    Ducting question

There are end caps available... http://www.jfplastics.co.uk/products/twinwall/twinwall-end-caps_plugs ...usually only intended to prevent debris entering before cables are pulled, but you could probably fashion something with plastic glands fitted into an end cap for the cables to exit. If...

What do these symbols mean in a rawl plug?

It's made by Fischer, from their SX range, and it needs a 6mm hole in the wall. The screws you need for this plug should be anywhere from 4mm to 5mm in diameter.

    Cross sectional area question

Cat5e is supposedly 24AWG, which is 0.205mm² according to Wikipedia, but I believe that comes from having a nominal diameter of 0.5mm, so that works out to just shy of 0.20mm² in reality. And that is for each core, not a pair. Cat6 can be 24AWG, 23AWG or even 22AWG. Check the spec of the cable...

    Car break-ins

How far away is the car? My keyless car can be opened from over 30 feet from the keys. You can't start it, but you can open the doors or boot. I use Faraday wallets, don't forget to do the same for the spare keys, too! Do you remember when Renault Lagunas started coming with that 'credit card'...

What fixing to attach to exposed brick wall?

I'll second that normal red plugs will hold this no problem. There is hardly any cantilever force, even fully loaded. Get some black screws to blend in a bit better than in the pics... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/384301140752
