    Electrical tools for a diyer

Yes, but there are Pozi/Slot types and Phillips/Slot types out there. ALL the ones in the picture are Phillips/Slot.

    Fire stopping for cables

Yes. Seal it up with fire rated expanding foam(if you've had to make a large hole) or intumescent sealant. If you are likely to be back any time in the future to run more cables, use a non setting intumescent putty instead, so it's easy to remove and re-use next time.

    Electrical tools for a diyer

Be aware, a lot of the sets for sale only come with either Phillips drivers OR Pozi drivers. You absolutely, definitely need both. Here's a couple of budget sets which have both types... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/141688736763 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/333270828348 Or, to make them easier to...

I saw "TRASHY" this morning near Bedford, actually TRA 511Y, but mis-spaced and with a screw to make the 'H'.

How is my ceiling rose/light switch functioning??

You may well have an "octopus" in the loft, or under the floorboards if that rose is downstairs... https://www.diynot.com/diy/threads/junction-box.212474/#post-1498613

    Personalised registration plates

I saw MD 1 about fifteen years ago on a clapped out old black BMW 5 series near Cockfosters. The plate must have been worth 20 times the car!! Still exists on a green Mercedes now according to the DVLA.

    Uses of electrical tape

It's for running in new cables mostly for me. Tape multiple cables together, then tape the bundle onto a piece of trunking lid or SuperRods to pull them through a false ceiling or loft, duct, etc.

Can I use this rear camera switch?

Yes, https://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/1986/1078/regulation/109/made See 109, 1, section (c). A lot of new HGVs(and coaches) I've seen lately don't have door mirrors, they have rear pointing cameras and an LCD screen inside the cab on either side for the driver to see.

Football. Have I heard this right?

So, we'll postpone Istanbul again this year, tell them they can have it next year and push the others back a year also... ... ...and then two German teams are in the final next year, for example, so we'll postpone Istanbul again, let the Allianz Arena have it and so on... ...etc.

Football. Have I heard this right?

It was more of a generic answer as to why it can't be changed at the last minute, but, even with Covid, the stadium will be getting an awful lot of money from TV companies and sponsorship of the event, even if the stadium was empty. In theory, Turkey's lockdown ends on 17th May!! It's just a...

Football. Have I heard this right?

You bid to host it years in advance, just like the Olympics or The World Cup. (or the "crappy" countries would never get to see a final in their country). All the hotels get booked up months in advance, not knowing who'll be in the final. TV crews, extra Police, Paramedics, staff at the venue...

Can I use this rear camera switch?

Do you really need a double pole? A single pole ON-OFF-ON switch can give you better functionality (or even just an ON-ON). Because... You can wire it up so it either comes on automatically when you select reverse, or you can just switch it on whenever you want.

    Ladders

They are uncomfortable to work on for longer jobs. Where both sections of the ladder overlap, your feet have to point down at an angle to be on both rungs, which hurts your ankles. Or you end up trying to keep your feet horizontal, therefore teetering on a sort of pivot point at the corner of...
