Length of coach screws for floating shelf

Just a single M8 coach screw 50mm long, on a stud wall, on a 600mm cantilever arm can hold me up, 82kg at the time. I think six adults could hang from your shelf!!

    Long lengths of 4" x 2"

A length of CLS over 6 metres?! The chances of it being nice and straight are slim! Have you thought about GluLam, just for this one beam, there's a place in Bury... https://www.ajlaminatedbeams.co.uk/specific-size

    Hot tap instalation

The problem is that for genuine instant boiling water, you'd need SO MUCH POWER, that no normal household electrical supply could supply enough watts. edit: I worked it out a few years ago, 36kW!! https://www.diynot.com/diy/threads/boiling-water.489573/page-2#post-3996542

    What screw do I need?

A test hole which will be covered by the cupboard in the end will be a good idea, i.e. the middle. NO!! You must determine the wall type first! Just saying it's a plasterboard wall isn't enough. You have to find out by drilling. It could be... Timber framed plasterboard wall (likely if an...

How to drill a hole in a tricky-to-align place

Do you mean the centre of the new hole is literally on the edge of the existing hole, like this... If so, no amount of clamping will prevent the centre drill trying to wander into the hole and pulling the holesaw off centre. File a groove to allow the centre drill somewhere to go(see below)...

    Drilling though a wall.

Lucky it didn't go through then! Large chunks will fall off as the drill bit bursts through. You need to drill from outside with an SDS drill, sounds like you have very hard brick in the outer leaf. Start with a long 8 or 10mm drill, then work up in size. Go gently unit you are through the...

    What screw do I need?

Once you drill through the plasterboard, how much of a gap is there before the drill bit (or a thin screwdriver poked in) hits anything? Remember, don't drill directly in line above power sockets/light switches/radiator pipes coming out the wall/etc.

    Rear view parking camera connections???

Didn't it come with another short lead which converts the small round connector into a standard DC jack and yellow Phono jack? The idea being that you only need to drill a smallish hole through the boot to fit the single round connector through first. If it really is 5 pin and not four, then...

    running external ethernet cable

Assuming they weren't using a really bad technique or had stripped the outer sheath so violently they had partially cut the inner cores, then, unfortunately, snapped cores is a common problem with CCA cable in particular, despite how much that seller claims theirs isn't. Did you actually want...

    running external ethernet cable

On top of the above advise, avoid the cheap nasty stuff which is just an ordinary length of grey PVC cable, which has had a PolyEthylene jacket extruded over the top, like this... It is very thick, very stiff to work with and wants to remain coiled. The good stuff has a black PE jacket...
