I accidentally sent cold up the hot with a garden hose sink tap adapter and ended up back feeding the cold storage tank in the loft and sent water out the overflow
So he said he hadn't touched anything when he actually energised the whole fitting. I wonder if he's broken any h&s law by putting you in harms way like that.
I owned a flat which was built in 2011 and whilst I'm not sure of the actual height of the sockets what I can tell you is that in my own opinion they were a bloody eyesore. They where so high that they were in line with the arm of the sofa. Just think about having sky shotgun cable, two plugs...
What model of bermuda do you have? I wonder if mine has it fitted.
I have an inset 2 50/4 that used to kettle when heating the gravity hot water. Much quieter now after draining and refilling however I now have a sort of rattling noise through the pipes and boiler when the burner is on and the...
I got water hammer as a result of the stop cock not being fully open. I thought that would cause a more violent hammer being open more but you live and learn I suppose
The black cap is the cover for the immersion heater. Basically a heating element to heat the water using electric incase the boiler goes on the blink so just leave it off as advised - unless the boiler breaks of course.
Hi folks. I'm in this store maybe once a week where I visit the warehouse. I've notified the warehouse manager who works in there and sadly he's not really all that bothered. Basically shrugs his shoulders when I mention it to him. I notified the store manager this morning so he is aware and...
Seen this in the warehouse of a Morrisons Supermarket. Beel like this for weeks. Started out as the sockets just being damaged but they have clearly been battered by pallets again as the socket is now hanging out, held in place by the L+N cables. Power is fed from another socket a short...
that's looks great
used to rent a top floor cottage flat (4 in a block) and the loft in that was massive. Basically the floor space of a 3 bedroom flat and loads of height (couldn't touch top of roof jumping). If I had owned the flat I would be doing what you're doing. That would have been an...
Is the exposed copper from the Red cable possibly making contact with the earthed metal back box when you cram the socket back into the wall, thus creating a L-E fault, tripping the mcb?
Appears for once they weren't talking out their arse
The pilot at present is going out on average once every two days.
I did notice on the copper pipe coming from the t/c to the gas valve it looks like he's crushed it with a pair of pliers so it's nice and cylindrical most of the way then...
in fact the more I think about it I'm sure the electrical terminals are in a different location - like this one...

Thanks for that. Do you mean a data plate behind the little door at the bottom where the valve and T/S is? I've had a look in there but can only see a sticker with pilot relight instructions and a wiring schematic.

Hi folks
Does anyone know where to find the GC number for the aforementioned boiler?
My parents are having trouble with the pilot light going out. BG have replaced T/C and said if fault reappears then boiler will need a new gas valve which surprise surprise they say is no longer available...
Even though you may have two 30ma RCD's, one may trip lower than the other eg one could trip at say mid 20ma and the other may be lower say 15ma even though it's labelled as 30ma hence why it works on one but not the other
